We stayed a tryp atocha from 12th June 09 until 15ht June 2009.The hotel staff were warm and friendly throughout and there is usually an english speaking person on rfeception at all times (which is rare for madrid). I agree with other reviews that the hotel feels more like a 3* than a 4* The room was functional with wooden... more

This may be 4stars in terms of the number of qualifying facilities but that's where the likeness ends. I booked this through Last Minute as one of their "Top Secret" deals but found out it was the Atocha by googling the description. For €20 a night I really could not complain. The rooms was quite standard, large bed though and... more

Good location but pricey. Not a good value for your money. Advertised as 4 star but more like a 3 star facility.Very basic accomodations in a location very close to the attractions.Literally steps away from the Metro. Helpful and knowledgable front desk staff more

This hotel is ideally located if you are interested in going to the three major art museums in Madrid— all are within easy walking distance. And it is not much further to Plaza Major and Puerta del Sol. Although it is on a busy street and my room was in front, on the third (American) floor, what street noise there... more

This hotel was the first port of call of a 12 day coach tour of Northern Spain. We were staying here for 3 nights and arrived after a long day travelling from home to the airport ,then the flight ,and then the transfer to the hotel. Our room was overlooking the front of the hotel which is situated on a major... more

Okay, we booked the Tryp Atocha through Priceline, and having recently spent three years consulting in the hotel industry, I expected to get the worst rooms in the hotel. Even so, they advertise themselves as a 4-star property and responded to my bid on such. We were disappointed generally by the 4-star (as compared with Asia, North and South America)... more

We stayed at the hotel in October 2007 for 2 nights. Our party had 3 double rooms, all of which were very good. If you want a quiet room ask for one at the back of the hotel. The breakfast was amazing and set up up for the day. The staff were helpful and polite. It was very central -... more

Hotel Tryp Atocha is a wonderful little gem. The room, although small, is tastefully decorated and the marble in the bathroom is gorgeous! And there is a small close-up makeup mirror. The breakfast buffet has a good assortment of fruits, meats, breads and pastries. The front desk staff is pleasant and helpful and went out of their way to get... more

We stayed here 5 nights - it was within walking distance to many important attractions. The hotel was really very very clean, modern and well kept. So clean that the bathroom was inviting enough to have a bath in and soak after a tiring shopping day. Usually you would only trust your own bath at home for this. The beds... more

The most remarkable advantages of the hotel are:- it is near a lot of places, museum and plazas, - near to a metro station, - and its very clean. On the other hand, i stayed in a room next to elevetor , so it was a little noisy, and at last some others travellers of the group charged them a... more
