What a hotel. The subway is right outside your door. The train station is three / four blocks away. There are restaurants and bakeries throughout the area. And, there's even a McDonald's five blocks away. (out the door to your left) In the same direction as McDonald's, there is a telephone center. You can call home or use the internet... more

Asked for a quiet room and were allocated one in interior of hotel. Beautifully appointed, modern, spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean. Reception staff excellent (in particular David Perez). First rate location for museums, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and other attractions. Did not eat in hotel as good value breakfasts available locally. Metro stop "Anton Martin" directly outside hotel. more

Nice clean hotel right by the metro station. Pricy breakfast, just drop by any of the 20 restaurant around for breakfast at 3rd of the price. Only issue we had was a stinky shower curtain that got changed when we asked... more

We stayed a tryp atocha from 12th June 09 until 15ht June 2009.The hotel staff were warm and friendly throughout and there is usually an english speaking person on rfeception at all times (which is rare for madrid). I agree with other reviews that the hotel feels more like a 3* than a 4* The room was functional with wooden... more

This may be 4stars in terms of the number of qualifying facilities but that's where the likeness ends. I booked this through Last Minute as one of their "Top Secret" deals but found out it was the Atocha by googling the description. For €20 a night I really could not complain. The rooms was quite standard, large bed though and... more

Good location but pricey. Not a good value for your money. Advertised as 4 star but more like a 3 star facility.Very basic accomodations in a location very close to the attractions.Literally steps away from the Metro. Helpful and knowledgable front desk staff more

This hotel is ideally located if you are interested in going to the three major art museums in Madrid— all are within easy walking distance. And it is not much further to Plaza Major and Puerta del Sol. Although it is on a busy street and my room was in front, on the third (American) floor, what street noise there... more

This hotel was the first port of call of a 12 day coach tour of Northern Spain. We were staying here for 3 nights and arrived after a long day travelling from home to the airport ,then the flight ,and then the transfer to the hotel. Our room was overlooking the front of the hotel which is situated on a major... more
