I had a very pleasant stay at Astoria. It's a very old building in the center of Madrid. My room was clean and quiet and had perfect air conditioning (the temperature outside was about 40 degrees). You can take the Express Airport bus to Plaza de Cibeles, which is 5 min. away from Astoria.

Good value for money and centrally located. Had a large balcony as well, which is a plus for a city centre even though it looked out over another hotel. For a few days in Madrid it is ideal. Caught a bus from the airport and the stop is a 10 minute walk away. It's my fifth visit to Madrid and... More

The hostel is very central. The people who provide the service are very friendly and welcoming. A little small for the room size, but well compensated with the same equipment; since even has a automatic clothes iron. It also has a computer room with internet access and printing documents. On the other hand, wake up and ask taxi, and the... More

Great staff, very clean and an unbeatable location. Situated pretty much in the centre of Madrid and a few minutes walk from the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Bornemisza. The rooms are quite small (at least ours was) and the beds could have been a little bit bigger but for a few days in Madrid it was perfect.

This hostal was really great&cheap. It's in the centre of Madrid-great location. Hostal was clean, modern. Every room has got own TV, bathroom and toilet. It's very small hostal, but it doesn't matter. Most of the day we were out of the hostal, basically it was just for sleeping, but it was nice.

We stayed here for 2 nights from 24th January in a triplet (Room 4o3). It is like a palace at the entrance. We stayed on 4th floor, but the lift was always operating. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was really nice (and clean). First it was hard to find how to operate the tap at the tub, but I... More

We chose Hostal Astoria for location - near major museums - and price - modest. There is no reason to go elsewhere: clean, firm beds, lots of hot water in the shower, good maid service, 24-desk multilingual staff and video security and a quick walk to good eating, Puerto del Sol and Plaza Mayor and museums. A couple caveats: if... More

Great central location just a few mins walk from Puerta del Sol, and very friendly, welcoming staff. This place really fell far short of expectations; the two rooms I stayed in were very different from the selection of photos. The rooms were very tired and in need of updating, and the sanitary ware in the bathrooms was very worn and... More

The hostal has a great location, close to important touristic points. The staff was always friendly. The room was not to small compared to other places with the same budget. It had good beds with a good air conditioner. The only problem was that at the first day the shower was not working well. I asked to fix it, but... More
