Hostel was in a great location, close to everywhere you need to go. Very safe, restaurant in walking distance. 1/2 mile from Plaza de Sol. Great staff, they are there 24/7. Very helpful. The room was clean, bathroom was nice, everything worked. Would definitely recommend.

Good location in particular for the museums, and good value. Single room on the 4th floor looking out onto the back and facing other apartments, though not an issue as it was generally quiet other than the Saturday night of a 4 night stay when the noise was very loud and disturbing until the early hours. I cannot be sure... More

when I chose this hotel, my wife was really unsure about it, because she thought that it couldn't be a good one, because it was too cheap. But once we got inside she completely changed her mind. Yes, the room was small, but it looked modern and well kept, and the receptionist was really nice.

The Hostal Astoria has a perfect location right in the centre of Madrid very close to the Puerta del Sol. The rooms are on the 4th and 5th floor but there is a lift. We stayed in a twin room on the 4th floor, a bit small but newly renovated and the bathroom was very comfortable and modern. The room... More

I had a very pleasant stay at Astoria. It's a very old building in the center of Madrid. My room was clean and quiet and had perfect air conditioning (the temperature outside was about 40 degrees). You can take the Express Airport bus to Plaza de Cibeles, which is 5 min. away from Astoria.

Good value for money and centrally located. Had a large balcony as well, which is a plus for a city centre even though it looked out over another hotel. For a few days in Madrid it is ideal. Caught a bus from the airport and the stop is a 10 minute walk away. It's my fifth visit to Madrid and... More

The hostel is very central. The people who provide the service are very friendly and welcoming. A little small for the room size, but well compensated with the same equipment; since even has a automatic clothes iron. It also has a computer room with internet access and printing documents. On the other hand, wake up and ask taxi, and the... More

Great staff, very clean and an unbeatable location. Situated pretty much in the centre of Madrid and a few minutes walk from the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Bornemisza. The rooms are quite small (at least ours was) and the beds could have been a little bit bigger but for a few days in Madrid it was perfect.
