Booked a room with a view of the Royal Palace and gardens- felt such tranquility looking at the gardens and the Majestic Palace. So surreal to be able to just go downstairs and walk in the gardens right at the doorstep of the hotel . Marina the receptionist is fantastic welcoming us with a bottle of champagne , just the... This hotel is an absolute gem and is our new go-to place to stay whenever we visit Madrid. We stayed a total of 3 nights at the Central Palace Madrid: 2 nights at the beginning of our trip in a Double Room w/View of Royal Palace, and 1 night at the end of our trip in a Double Interior Room.... We had an amazing time and we can highlight the amazing staff, which is incredibly kind and always available to help; the rooms - which are big and tastefully decorated; the incredible incredible; and the great location great (near to metro, to... Just returned after a wonderful 4 night stay for my 50 th Birthday. The hostal is impressive and overlooks the Royal Palace. It is the perfect location for exploring Madrid. The surrounding area is vibrant and full of atmosphere. The room was beautiful and we had a room with a view of the palace, I had to keep pinching myself... More

Stayed for the couple of days for holidays. The atmosphere is very friendly and nice, the view is amazing and the location is absolutely perfect and close to the main sights. The rooms are clean and reception is very welcome to help and give you a good advice where to go and what to see. Definitely recommended.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
