The price was awesome, the location is amazing, the view was fantastic! Upon arriving the staff were very helpful and extremely kind. The room was comfortable, clean, and very well decorated. We loved every minute of our stay! The next time we're in Madrid, this will be our go to place to stay!

Everything about this accommodation is fantastic. The rooms are beautifully decorated to a luxurious standard, lovely and comfortable & the staff are so helpful and friendly. Couldn't fault it in any way. Would stay here again without hesitation. The location is also excellent with the Royal Palace just opposite. Most of the sights are within reasonable walking distance and Opera metro... More

The rooms facing the Palace are amazing ... the room itself is as described in the title but the view from the balcony is something hard to get at this price level. Perhaps the best quality price ratio ever seen. Having said that, wardrobe and safe in the room are very small. In summer and for a short stay, it... More

Surprised by the hostel, the position and the views. Also her main manager "Marina" was very friendly and welcoming. We chose a room with views to the palace. Nice and beautiful room, with cute small details. Comfortable bed (not very big) but good enough. Bathroom with big shower. After the check in and while we were leaving some of our... More

We decided to book a late holiday in Madrid near Christmas to take in the atmosphere ,Christmas markets etc . However I don't like staying in noisy busy hotels near main roads. So when I saw the Central Palace Hostel I was intrigued. The photos were lovely I read the reviews & booked it . I'm so glad I did... More

In the heart of Madrid, the best rooms, in the best location with the best view... The room is huge, bright and clean. The bed is very comfortable. But the highlight of this hostal is the staff. Very service oriented, nice, friendly and make you feel good. The only thing is that the price does not include breakfast. Highly recommended... More

We have visited many different places all around the world, and in particular Spain, and by far Hostel Central is the best yet. Cleanliness, location, and excellent hosts. Thank you Marina, we wish there were more like you. We will return Garry & Susan Oliver

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
