One of the best places we have stayed at in Madrid in terms of quality and value for money. Also great location close to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Metro stations close by - efficient and easy to use. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable with some nice extras eg hair dryer and magnifying mirror in the bathroom,... More

I am just back from a four night stay in this hotel and it was better than I expected from some of the reviews I read. We got our room for about £50 a night and booked it quickly not knowing where it was located as it was a bit rushed and was really surprised at how good the location... More

We were in Cortezo twice. Rooms are smalls but with a confortable wood floor. We were in darks rooms at the end of the corridor, that part of the hotel is next to Haggen-Dasz Theatre and it is like you are in the middle of the spectacle even at 11p.m. at weekend. The situation is good, near Plaza Mayor, and... More

Close to everything. Rooms were clean, tidy and reasonably dressed. Suitable for a short stay. Staff was very helpful getting us a taxi, loading our bags and communicating our destination to the non-english speaking driver. Booked the room at an excellent rate and would definitely stay again for the same bargain price!

Hotel Corteza is very well situated in close proximity to the Plaza Mayor and metrostation Sol. Rooms are not extremely large or luxurious but well equipped, clean and with good beds. Breakfast buffet has enough variation, although fresh orangejuice can't be found. Strange, in a country well known for the oranges... Rates are fair for a hotel like this. Good... More

Stayed here during a recent business trip to Madrid. Hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to Plaza Major and some great eateries - including Tapas and Churros. Reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and room were clean and comfortable.

The hotel is perfectly located, walking distance from any tourist place you want/have to visit in Madrid The room, dark spacious enough, and bathroom were clean, small twin beds. Not quite well isolated. Fortunately neighbours were quite, but you can hear showers, flush, etc from surrounding rooms TV with few international channels Good and free wifi connection Really Basic breakfast... More

Good location but room was average and the mattress thin and creeky. Staff were helpful. Access was 24/7. No safe in room. Noisy club next door. Free wifi. No idea about breakfast but was open until 11am. Check out 12.
