Location very central Plazas with beautifull buildings a delight to sit and have a coffee or drink and relaxe and were all within minutes walk. Lovely restaurants. Musea, Palace, Botanic garden all nearby and a bonus for the over 65 it was half price or some even free of charge. We will come back amd stay there again. The receptionist(e)... More

Good welcoming host, clean apartment, Bad Sofa bed, very stiff and hard to sleep, noisy street, stays noisy even late after hours. Internet worked well, checking in and checking out is no issue. Over all this place is in the heart of the City, minutes from the Grand Via, Grand Train Station, Palace, and lot more, just to a 10... More

We did have a little bit of difficulty locating the apartment, but when we arrived it was worth it. Our room was nicely laid out, with chic deco in the bedroom and living room. The kitchen and living area were spacious; the bedroom and bathroom were in a cosy alcove attached. We walked everywhere from our apartment, so location was... More

I had high hopes for this self-catering apartment. The location was very central and the price was right. The studio apartment was clean and comfortable. We were there for a few days, then move on to our next city. We had checked in a little late in the afternoon, around 6 p.m. When it came to checking out, we just... More

We really enjoyed our stay at this self catering apartment! Completely central for Madrid. Plaza de Santa ana is 3 minute walk away and Plaza Mayor 10 minutes! We didn't use the metro at all and found walking everywhere was better. The apartment is right next door to a supermarket so its very convenient. The apartment was spotless and everything... More

We booked this accommodation through agoda. We had trouble looking for this apartment less than 5mins walk to Anton Martin metro. It is located opposite the Le Petite Bistrot Matute restaurant. We stayed here for 4 nights in Room 14. It's fortunate that it wasn't the bio-toilet room. It's difficult to keep the bathroom dry as water splashes out of... More

We had a good stay in this apartments, they were reccomeded to us by a couple who used to live in Madrid. The location is good, we walk with our kids (4 and 6) to Plaza Sta Ana just around the corner and to Plaza del Sol and most of the main attrations of donwtown Madrid. Europe restaurants are not... The title says it all. I'm currently staying here as I write this review. The description states various amenities such as wifi, kitchen, etc...I would not count on it. Despite being dirty the location is decent. Most everything is a short walk. The wifi was spotty at best. The shower doesn't provide enough water or pressure for my girlfriend to... More

Relation was excellent, the staff speak English. I did check in El-Al by wi-fi and sent them an email for print. To my surprise , in morning it was already waiting for me an envelope with a printed ticket. A very functional and close to metro station. But metro station has many stairs and it is very difficult with luggage.... More

Very clean, right in the center, good areas. Good choice to visit Madrid (paseo de Prado! puertas del Sol and Plaza Mayor are just around the corner), tapas and the Spanish movida! Recomendes for families or groups of friends May be hard to find - your challenge starts here!!

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
