Awesome Clean friendly staff. Value for your money .. This is the place to stay. The staff are always available to guide you along the way. They speak English even though its very little , but you can understand each other. There are nice quite rooms you can choose from. Breakfast nice and simple.

The place is small, but clean and friendly. The location is what you go for. You can walk everywhere from this location and the metro is 50 meters away. I would stay again for sure. The area is busy with shopping, places to eat and drink and wonderful sites to see.

great location in centre of Madrid within walking distance of all/most the highlights of this beautiful city. Lots of tapas bars/restaurants in the surrounding streets and metro station is within two minute walk. Make no mistake this is a basic hotel but has been modernised recently,is kept superbly clean and has an extremely helpful staff.

I booked a twin room for my son and I when we went to watch Real Madrid v Liverpool. Hostal Madrid is superbly located near by to Vodafone Sol Metro and Plaza Mayor. The staff were really helpful and booked us a taxi for the next day to take us to the Airport. The room was very modern with a... More

First I would like to say that I did not stay in this hotel. My review is limited only to my experience with staff working at the reception as I was blown away by their positive and helpful attitude even though I was not staying there. The fact that I was not their guest did not matter at all!!! They... More

You can't do better than this!...on a side street in between 2 most popular squares in central Madrid. Was worried as arrived 10.30pm (got lost) and states can charge admin fee if arrive after 10pm, but no word of that, very lovely welcome. Room 206 small but totally adequate, nicely done stone wall features, but very! small shower with odd... More

Perfect location when you want to make the most out of Madrid! Clean rooms and great service. A little noisy in the night but should not come as a suprise since it is centrally located. Much recommended.

If you are looking for a no-frills place to stay for a night or two relatively close to the action in Madrid, this hotel is great. It is clean, relatively inexpensive and friendly. The wifi in my room was not good (which was frustrating) but it was free. If you want a room with a view, you might have to... More

We booked room at this place for a family of five one day before we arrived. We got an excellent room at the fifth floor with two roof terraces and an large apartment. They helped us parking the car at a cheap location. The location is splendid. Book it.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
