I stayed over a week here in late March. I splurged and got a room with a balcony. The bed was really comfortable, the room was decent sized for Europe and it had a small desk and free Wi-Fi. The staff spoke enough English for me to get by with no Spanish and were most helpful. It's over a tapas... More

This hotel was a great find - thank you TripAdvisor! As previous reviews have said, the hotel is in an excellent location in the heart of the city and with the metro station (La Latina) just a short stroll away. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly - on arrival Daniel provided us with a free glass of wine while checking... More

Lovely posada, great location, stylish rooms, good food and drink & service. This is a really great place to stay - right in the centre of old Madrid & close to the Plaza Mayor. The restaurants and bars nearby were suoerb

Historical quirky building with plenty of character. Well located within easy reach of Plaza Santa Ana. Bright, clean and trendy rooms with a good power shower. Very friendly and helpful staff who lent me a phone charger and brought me coffee in the morning. I had a great view over the roof tops.... very nice indeed.

We spent the weekend at Posada del Dragon. What a nice hotel? Rooms are small but well appointed (very comfortable bed). Friendly and helpful staff (all of them), brilliant location, lively bar - and surrounded by lively tapas bars. Madrid's a winner for a city break.

What a great hotel. It has an atrium in the centre, where you would have your food etc. Then to the front it has a public bar and restaurant, with a door that closes off to the hotel and private restaurant for residents, so noise does not travel up, as they make sure the door is closed. The tapas is... More

I'd count this another Trip Advisor success, as we booked because of previous reviews. On balance, this place is a true gem. Not completely without flaws, but location is certainly very very good. The street has a wide selection of dinner places. We stayed twice - first in a balcony room, and secondly in an interior room. The balcony room... More

We stayed in Feb and didn't mind size or room layout. Entry is through a smaller restaurant/tavern but not a big deal. Location could not be better-5 stars for walking anywhere/everywhere and close to subway. comfortable beds and clean, noise was not a problem nor was or wifi. However, the shower doors are not sealed so water runs out onto... More

Just returned from a 3 night stay here, with my son and we loved everything about Madrid! But this hotel is amazing, the staff are friendly and very welcoming ,the rooms are quirky and quite small but the fantastic showers make up for that. Very comfy beds spotlessly clean throughout. But the best thing of all is the location right in the... More

My husband and I stayed here in September 2014. It is a small, cute hotel -lovely rooms although a little on the small side but were spent most of our time sightseeing so size was not too much of an issue. The bed was really comfortable & the staff helpful but not intruding. It is perfectly located for sightseeing with... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
