We stayed for 3 nights! The location is very good, walking distance for all touristic points and also very good prices 57 euros per night! Our room was 214 and the problem is the noisy every morning restaurant moving dishes from hotel breakfast! Every morning I woke up listening people moving glasses, plates... It seems they were washing them inside... More

We were impressed by this centrally located hotel. We liked very much the staff and the bathroom which was big. It seems allmost a 4* hotel. We stayed 4great days in this hotel. The only minus is the noise of the street in some nights.

What a find! When we first booked here I was a little sceptical as for such a Central hotel the price was exceptional. We booked a Superior room and found it to be spotlessly clean, modern and larger than expected. As someone else mentioned, the lack of a door to the bathroom was a first but after a couple of... Not sure how this gets a 2/3 star rating... The quality of the rooms are at least 4 star.. Roof top rooms with a terrace are great.. Really quiet even on Arenal and just 5 mins from San Miguel Market and Plaza Major... Fab choice, service and great value!

The room was lovely and the hotel in a central location. It was easy to walk to San Miguel market, royal palace and the metro stations. Unfortunately this means the rooms are noisy especially Thursday, Friday night as there is a nightclub further down the same street. The staff were not particularly helpful, unfortunately I had my purse stolen and... More

As a couple we stayed at this hotel for a short visit to Madrid. The location is exceptional for all the sites and the price great value. The breakfast room looked very nice although we didn't stay for breakfast ourselves. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. Definitely recommend.

We stayed here for 6 nights over new year in a superior room. It is very centrally located between opera and puerta del sol. We walked everywhere although there are 2 metro stations very close by. We were in a corner room on the 4th floor and with the shutters closed at night we slept well and no disturbance from... More

the only thing that reminds you this is a 2 star hotel is the price. All the rest, the ocation, the staff ,the facilities remind you more of a 3 or even 4 star hotel. Highly recommended-but take care that rooms on lower floor are a bit noisy

Renovated and fresh hotel with nice personal. We stayed in a triple room and it held everything we needed, one king size bed and one standard bed and an large bathroom. Good enough breakfast that wasn't included in the prize, think it cost about 10 eur per person, but it contained quite enough of food, from fruit, eggs and bacon,... More

This hotel is all about location. It could not be better. However, it is loud, loud, loud both inside and outside. There were signs of improvements being made, but is pretty worn out. Clean enough. No bar or restaurant. Expensive breakfast in a crowded and yes, loud dining room.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
