It's in a great location (minutes to Puerta del Sol and Gran Via), but you pay for it ... by lack of sleep! Madrid is a party reveller's dream, and that means that if you are trying to catch some zzzz's, you will have some trouble if you stay here. Although the windows are pretty good at keeping out the... What a great find...central location with bars restaurants and shops all with a few minutes stroll. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and offered various options for trips to take (we did the city bus tour just to get our bearings ) All areas are newly refurbished to a very high standard and very modern and stylish. Our room was amazing..... Good location, too bad they put us in the newly renovated floor that was still under construction. There were wires hanging out from open ceiling. Quite noisy during the day when workers were there. Room wasn't that clean. There were hairpins littered on the room floor.

Can't fault the location. Ideal and in the centre of everything. We had an amazing room firstly, huge, 3 little balconies, only one small problem .. No doors on the bathroom??!! Why?? Some things are just not meant to be shared! I just don't understand it? Tried it out for one day and night but just couldn't do it. We... More

I really liked this hotel, it is very well located, just few blocks away from Puerta del Sol, lots of restaurants around and even San Gines is around the corner to eat the famous churros. Room was very comfortable and clean, staff was very kind and helpful. Very recommended.

This is an update on a review I wrote two years ago, where I recommended the hotel and gave it 4 stars. I am upgrading that recommendation now to 5 stars. The refurbishment continues at its own place. At reception I was told that they expect that it will continue an additional two years. Location unbeatable for a tourist. Refurbished... More

Only good thing is location. I booked 3 nights 10 weeks in advanced. I was told that I would be charged in Euros. When I arrived the receptionist virtually threw the receipt at me, & said payment had already been deducted ( in dollars ?). I asked about tourist information , & to my surprise he said what??? & I... More

We spent 5 nights here last week. The hotel is superbly situated, and we hardly used public transport to get around - about 15 min walk to the main art museums, less to the Royal Palace, cathedral, opera house etc. Lots of excellent restaurants just minutes away (for which we found TripAdvisor very helpful too!). Close to 2 Metro stations,... More

My Boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in a superior room while visiting Madrid for a friends wedding! We arrived early on Thursday Morning before check in and were shown to our rooms without delay! The staff were friendly and welcoming and there was fruit/water and sandwiches waiting in our room! The rooms are so modern with great... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
