A very central places hotel for museum Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sophia etc. But also in walking distance to the center of Madrid, place del Sol, place Mayor etc. The hotel is clean, the rooms big and well equiped and especially the bathrooms very nice! Unfortunately parking is not possible and a big problem if you drive yourselfe. There are a... More

The hotel was in walking distance to the train station which was why we booked there. Small, tidy rooms with one visible outlet. There is a nice tapa restaurant next door where you can take your meal or drinks up to your room. Across the street from Prado museum although we didn't have time for that. Incredible garden growing on... More

This hotel is conveniently located near to Atocha station. The staff were especially helpful when we had to change our booking. The restaurant attached to the hotel served great breakfasts and even better tapas. Value for money

First let me say this hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Madrid across the street from the Prado. You can walk to Atocha Station, the Thyssen, and the Reina Sofia in five minutes. I was on a very tight schedule for three days and the location of this hotel made my trip easier and better than I could... More

A clean and comfortable hotel, which offered good accommodation although modest size bedrooms, with full showers etc,and clean bedlinen, except pillows could have been feather not sorbo rubber. Staff very polite and helpful and good dining facility within hotel confines.

We arrived by train late in Madrid and stayed one night before leaving early in the morning for our flight home. The hotel is easy to find and close to the rail station, so it is conveniently located. We had a nice room that was clean and quiet. It's a fine hotel and a good value if you are on... More

This location of the hotel was very convenient for me as a first time visitor to Madrid. The museums, parks and transportation were walking distance from the place and the staff was very friendly. I booked a single room and it was cozy, clean and quiet. The Wi Fi was very strong in my room. I would definitely book again... More

We normally stay at the NH Nacional or Paseo del Prado, but decided to save a few bucks and stay here at the Mora. Our room is sleek and clean, and surprisingly well designed. It is SMALL, but not cramped. We requested a quiet room and it is is so. Now, occasionally we can hear the flush of a distant... More

Good location, only 10 minutes walk to the rail station. No kettle in the room. If you need hot water, you should go to the cafeteria on the 1st floor to get one glass of water. If you need more, go there again and prepare to be treated with disdain.

The location is great if you plan to visit the prado museum and the retiro park, Since i booked in a hotel by plaza del sol last time i've been to Madrid, I recommand everyone to be close to sol because it is close to most other places and monunments. The rest is ok except that the rooms are really... More

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighborhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
