Very nice location opposite Retiro park and near Atocha station. Single room. Stinky and stuffy room on arrival. Noticed it gets warm very quickly but double doors to open to get fresh air in. Bed was comfortable and enjoyed having the balcony, albeit small - no sitting outside or anything like that but a nice place to stand for a... More

And for a budget traveler, the Hotel Mora has a lot going for it. The staff are friendly and helpful. I'll mention Natalia by name because she just helped me get my "damaged" electronic boarding pass printed. One of the evening staff told me the best way to get to Palacio Real which involved the metro which I had been... More

Yes, the rooms are small so this is not the hotel you should be booking if you're planning on staying in your room. Two key things: 1. Great location. Very close to Atocha train station and the museums 2. Clean room

On my recent trip to Europe my first stop was Madrid. I did my research and read reviews and decided on this Hotel, it did no disappoint me. No doubt location is important, across the street from Park Retiro and El Prado Museum and Atocha Train Station is a 3-5 minute walk. The Hotel is on a Main street so... More

Great Location in Madrid. Close to El Prado Museum, La Cibeles, and other attractions in the area. Easy access by the Atocha Station and connections to the rest of the city. Clean and basic rooms, good beds, friendly and helpful staff. Had a nice 2 nights stay at this hotel. Excellent price.

Hotel Mora has a very welcoming reception area. Very clean and orderly. Though the room was on the small size. It didn t bother me so much. Two important things were missing in the room. A bottle cooler, which is badly needed in the heat of Madrid. Coming out of the bath can be tricky, so a handle bar is... More

The rooms were small, but nice and clean up to my standards. I have stayed there twice now, and the only small point to mention is that the size and quality of the rooms can vary significantly for the same price. The first time I was placed in a tiny room, with an airy bathroom that wouldnt warm up since... More

A very central places hotel for museum Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sophia etc. But also in walking distance to the center of Madrid, place del Sol, place Mayor etc. The hotel is clean, the rooms big and well equiped and especially the bathrooms very nice! Unfortunately parking is not possible and a big problem if you drive yourselfe. There are a... More

The hotel was in walking distance to the train station which was why we booked there. Small, tidy rooms with one visible outlet. There is a nice tapa restaurant next door where you can take your meal or drinks up to your room. Across the street from Prado museum although we didn't have time for that. Incredible garden growing on... More

This hotel is conveniently located near to Atocha station. The staff were especially helpful when we had to change our booking. The restaurant attached to the hotel served great breakfasts and even better tapas. Value for money

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighborhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
