We have just returned from a city break in Madrid staying at the H10 Villa de la Reina. This was our first visit to the city and while it may not have the attractions of Rome or Paris the general architecture and feeling of the city is wonderful. A city to be recommended. As for the hotel it is ideally... More

The hotel is just stunning! NYC style building at Gran Via, close to all action, bars, restaurants and shops! Great design, funky and modern. I strongly recommend that H10 Hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful (not as much while my check-out as reception staff hardly speak english and was very harsh, not good last impression) Over all, place to... More

Nice renovated hotel on a fairly busy street between several key neighborhoods of the city and conveniently located with access to many attractions and good eats. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. We stayed on the top floor in a room with a patio overlooking the city. The hotel has old charms and is fairly quiet. Many good restaurants... More

The hotel is in the centro of Madrid in Gran Via area. This area is full of life, you can admire the life of the Spanish people. The hotel is surrounded by shops, restaurants. You can easily visit all the famous attractions by walking towards Puerta Del Sol Plaza Mayor, Teatro royal etc. Concerning the Hotel, the staff were constipated,... More

We loved our short stay at Villa de la Reina. It was everything we needed; convenient, central, clean and elegant with a breakfast that offered good value for us - as it was included in the price we had paid. The Nespresso in the rooms, the wi-fi throughout and the relaxing lobby area/bar were all much appreciated. What was most... More

Just returned from a 5 day trip to Madrid. H10 was an ultimate hotel. It lays in the middle of Madrid, couldn't be better. The staff is outstanding, the room is very clean. We had room 208 which was very quiet. Breakfast is very good, online the coffeemachine is annoying. Go for this boutique hotel you won't regret it.

The Hotel H10 Villa de la Reina was clean and well-maintained. A good selection of food at breakfast. Handy for all the attractions of central Madrid. It took a while for reception staff to locate an iron and ironing board for me, but otherwise no complaints. Staff also arranged to have the phone charger I left in the room mailed... More

Villa de la Reina is a lovely hotel. The lobby and bar area is full of character and a very comfortable place to have a pre-dinner drink. The staff at reception and in the bar were very friendly and helpful. Most rooms are served by a delightful original lift that runs up the middle the spiral staircase, which simply adds... More

The hotel is nice, it's very central, you can walk to almost every spot you would want to visit. It's located in the Gran Via , so you have a lot of shops and restaurants, tapas bars and clubs. We had a quiet room so it was easy to sleep, the hotel rooms are small but comfortable. The bathrooms are... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
