My husband and I stayed here in Madrid for 3 nights on our honeymoon. It was a great hotel! Centrally located we could walk almost everywhere under 20 minutes. The lobby is super chic, the staff helpful, the rooms are nice, cozy and quiet and the place is affordable. The amenities are great also. The only reason I am not... More

I stayed 4 nights in this hotel during my holidays in Madrid. The lobby had nice ambience, good location, room was fine...however, the front desk staff was very unprofessional. I booked a double standard room and, at the time of check in, asked if it was possible to get a double bed instead of twin beds. He told me he... More

My husband and I booked to stay 4 nights in the standard double room having read lots of reviews beforehand. Prior to leaving London, I rang the hotel to enquire about upgrading to the superior room with a terrace and was informed that I could pay the additional 15 euros a night upon arrival. I also informed the receptionist that... More

Recently finished our third stay at this hotel and were very happy as usual. Check in was fast (we even arrived a bit early and the room was already ready), the room was nice, and the location is idea if you want to be in the heart of Madrid, right on Gran Via. You're also just steps away from Chueca.... More

Really good smaller classy hotel, perhaps less hip than some of its neighbors, but great central location, quiet and comfortable room, bed and amenities. Some smaller things: the reception was a bit confused (maybe because of the July heat) both on check-in and check-out. The single and 'old style' elevator can be slow. The appears to be no security at... More

Thank you for your review, So we can improve our service. I am sorry if there was some missunderstanding in reception. About the elevator we have two elevators: the "French" elevator that seems old but all the system is new, it is replica of the former one, and the other elevator at the back of the lobby area. We hope... More

Probably about the fourth time I've stayed here, due to it's absolutely perfect location, along with previously very comfortable rooms & facilities. Bit of a quibble this time though, due to incredibly small bathroom - albeit with large shower. No space for a bidet, and knees abutting the sink unit whilst sat on the loo. ! VERY expensive (and a... More

This nicely-decorated boutique hotel is in a great location - close to the metro and within walking distance to Plaza Mayor and other popular spots. Staff is always on-site, welcoming, and helpful with any questions. One woman was even able to recommend a nail salon close by for me. Being in a real hotel with air conditioning during the hottest... More

Visited here recently for 4 nights. The lobby is beautiful and gives you the expression of something really good. Our room for 2 people with 140cm bed however was really small for two, on the 1st floor. Bed was firm and we asked some extra pillows which we got from friendly maid. Bathroom was really small too. I know they... More

Thank you very much for your opinion, so we can improve our service. The building was made 1919 by the architect Mr. Secundino Zuazo and the rooms have different sizes due to building structure. I'm going to this hotel every year. Now it's even better after the renewal. Even in the noisy Granvia it's very quiet. The breakfast include really good Spanish specialities including churros and pa amb tomàquet. Very nice staff and walking distance to Prado museum, Cibeles, Plaza de Oriente, Reina Sofia museum.

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
