Hotel El Prado bats above its 3 star average. Firstly the rooms - large, spacious extremely clean, large bathroom. Secondly the location - within walking distance to all the popular sites - Plaza Mayor, Museo El Prado, Museo Thyssien, the Metro, Palacio Real, Cava Baja, Jardin El Retiro, Gran Via, etc.... Thirdly the service - from our first introduction, the... more

For a combination of location, price, service, and size of rooms this is probably the best city centre hotel I have stayed in. The service was excellent and the receptionist spoke very good English. On arrival we were given an introductory gift of a box of sweets, H2O Spa toiletries, souvenir wine book and note pad. I know toiletries are... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel El Prado for 4 nights in September 2009. The location is great. It was just a short 10 minute or so walk to the Prado museum and the metro stop was about 2 blocks away and there were soo many restaurants within the area. Taxis frequent the road in front, so catching one... more

I would definitely recommend the El Prado to any traveller looking for a hotel that offers a central location, value for money and good service. From start to finish to hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is within easy reach of the majority of tourist hotspots, we barely used the Metro all weekend. The Parque... more

Our room on the 6th floor had a privatish ( neighbors across the street) terrace for which we did not pay extra. The room was very clean and the breakfast was good . The room was small but perfectly adequate and the bathroom good too. We walked to all the museums etc with no problems . I really enjoyed this... more

Location is perfect. Could walk to everything. Breakfast is included which was very nice. There was no hot water one day, which was extremely disappointing. Our room on the 6th floor had a balcony, but was nothing special. Friendly staff. Great value for the price. Located right next to Plaza Santa Ana which was full of life until 2 am.... more

I stayed at Hotel El Prado for two nights on business. The hotel was excellent value for Madrid - 80 euros per night for a double room (single occupancy) without breakfast. The location is terrific; very central, close to the Prado, near restaurants in the middle of the La Letras area and convenient to two metro stops. The hotel is... more

We arrived at the Madrid Barajas airport just before 8AM and hopped on the Metro to head to our destination. We took the #8 line to the Nuevos Ministerios station and transferred to the #10 line. At the Tribunal station, we transferred again to the #1 line and then got off at the Anton Martin station. While there were some... more
