The cost of the room in September was £50 a night including breakfast on alpharooms. I couldn't fault the hotel as it is well run and the facilities are good. My only minor complaint was that the twin beds are rather hard but otherwise the hotel is clean and although most of the rooms are a little dated it is... More

Well situated for walking into the centre, buses, and the metro, with taxis always outside. Comfortable, clean, WiFi with desk, Comprehensive breakfast buffet. Very helpful staff. Being just outside the busy centre the nights were quiet, for we who are unused to the late nights in Spain.

Very comfortable hotel. Beautiful and clean room with wi-fi and a nice desk to use computers. Very good bathroom with enough amenities and a bath tube. Excellent breakfast. Very good value for money. I was going to travel with my parents bu they could not go last minute. So the hotel staff changed the room from triple to double and... More

Very nice, large room and friendly service. Easy walk to center of Madrid, about 15 minutes to Plaza Mayor. Metro station nearby. At the advice of other reviewers, we requested a renovated room. Not sure how the "older" rooms compare, but the room we were assigned was nice, large, and had the most closet space of any hotel room I've... More

This is a perfectly good value mid range hotel located a little way from the centre of Madrid but walkable nonethless. Failing that there are always taxis parked out front. As other reviews have pointed out rooms fall into two types, those that have been refurbished and those that have not. Disapointingly I was allocated one of the latter. Everything... More

I (the missus) stayed in this hotel in March 2014. This is what I like and did not like about the hotel: What I like: - Convenient location. A few stops away from the shopping area such as Gran Via and near two supermarkets. - Rooms were kept clean. - Reception spoke good English. What I did not like: -... More

Just back from a short 4 day break with holiday gems to the puerto de toledo. The break was excellent value and the hotel really clean and comfortable in a great position for the sights of Madrid. The reception staff were very friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast was good and varied, available from 7 - 11, which was great.... More

This hotel was the greatest surprise. Free wifi and breakfast makes this a great buy. Its proximity to the Puerta de Toldeo metro stop means that this hotel is great value for a city that has a range of hotel prices given what is going on. The photos shown do not not represent the room I stayed in which was... More

A great, reasonably priced hotel which is ideally located for all the main tourist attractions. It's a 15 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor and ten minutes to the Palace (can't remember the name but stunning views to the mountains). Hotel room was a good size, even for three adults and clean with very comfortable beds. Breakfast in the hotel... More

Hotel Puerta de Toledo is a friendly hotel close to all of the tourist attractions in central Madrid with a very local feel. This hotel is in 10 minutes walking distance to the royal palace and the Plaza Mayor. The Puerta de Toledo neighborhood has more of a local feel than when you stay at a hotel along the Grand... More
