Found in very good location in the heart of the city centre right near to Grand Via station and Puerto de Sol. Front desk staff were very good & breakfast too was nice and fresh. Brilliant hotel of high quality.

The hotel is well located on very quiet street. 1min to Gran Via, 5min walk to city center Puerta del Sol. Nice shops, restaurants, cafes surrounded hotel. Hop on Hop off buses around the corner. Room large but a bit noisy. Don't buy breakfast.

Hotel with great lotion, close to everything. Metro and good supermarket round the corner. Hotel is simple but clean. Nice breakfast with bread, cheese, yoghurt, coffee, fresh fruit and croissants. Staff can help you arrange transport from hotel to airport with shuttlebus to a good price.

A few minutes from the bustl9ing Puerta del Sol and Gran Via, the Aquaria Negresco is a great value, with nice amenities and an extremely welcoming staff. The rooms are bigger than you might have expected, crisp and clean. We'd definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for 3 nights and it definitely does not exceed its 3 star hotel rating. Firstly the elevator didn't work for the first day and a half of our stay and we had to repeatedly walk up to the fifth floor (initially with our big suitcases) to get to our room. We are... More

Lovely hotel in walking distance of most places. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only faults I found is the air condition wasn't great. Biggest fault was the safe in the room. We discovered just at end of our holiday we could open the safe with our finger. Rooms were small but comfortable. Room was cleaned every day and... More

Great location, just along Calle Gran Via. Only a short walk to either Gran Via metro or Callao metro. Also walking distance to Puerta del Sol, and most of the Madrid Centre attractions. Service is reasonable, room is clean and neat, all amenities worked well. Able to find café, etc at nearby area if you do like the breakfast at... More

Worst choice I ever made. Says its 3 star but it's just a hotel..shady ambience. To start with it was already humid in Madrid and they don't put on the AC and advertise as AC available.so no sleep practically 2 nights. Hot stuffy poor ventilation. Then if you are on the first floor you will die of suffocation .the cigarette... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
