The hotel is located in the heart of Madrid in the most central shopping area. The streets around are full of bars, restarounts, caffes, shops and people. Hotel is very clean and comfortable, very quiet, minibar is full with free drinks like beer, water and many kinds of juices, we got also a bottle of wine. All free and refilled. No need to... More

Myself and my partner stayed in the hotel Preciados for two nights on route back to Ireland from Malaga. We had a wonderful stay and the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel and the location is perfect and there is car parking in the hotel.

Our family of five stayed in 3 rooms for 6 nights. The hotel is very clean and well-appointed, centrally located in Madrid (near Puerta del Sol), and the staff took very good care of our every need. I highly recommend this hotel!

Our family of 5 stayed here for 6 nights while in Madrid, our last stop during our 25 day journey through Spain. What a way to end this trip! My teens were mesmerized, seeing the excellent location, close to major street, Gran Via; 2 metro stations (Callao, Sto Domingo); walking distance to Puerta del Sol, Chueca etc. Gran Via has... The hotel is centrally located (<5 mins to SOL) and within walking distance to many attractions such as Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, Prado (20 mins), La Latina etc. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms are quiet, very clean and well equipped, including tea and coffee making facilities. Our room overlooked the mainly pedestrian street, with... More

A high class-hotel with tradition that's as it should be! Room was excellent ,nice hard bed and pillows slept like a baby! Location is ideal and although Metro v near and although great we chose to walk pretty much everywhere! Service from Concierges and reception went beyond our expectations and the bar was set high! Had a issue with luggage... More

This hotel is right in the middle of Madrid, within walking distance of practically all of the major historic sites and museums in Madrid. We had rooms 310 and 314. 310 faced the main street but you couldn't hear any of the street noises. 314 did not have any view and faced an interior space but that really didn't matter... More

Everything just fine! Staff, rooms, location, breakfast. In the midle of Madrid's crowded centre this is an oasis. You go everywhere and get back to rest in a silent enviroment. The rooms have even a pair of doble glass window... I will be back

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Breakfast was included. We booked it as a 4stars hotel, but we think that this place deserves 5 stars. Excellent location and customer service, they were able to check us in at 11am after a long flight. Breakfast was excellent, again, the level of 5 stars hotel. Nice rooms, toiletries, everything was... More

We visited Madrid for 3 days. Upon arrival we were shown to a lovely twin room - with no windows!! As I suffer from claustrophobia I requested another room. Unfortunately no twin rooms have windows, however we were promptly offered a new room with a KS bed which we decided to stay in. Overall the hotel is lovely. The room... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
