Hotel is in a great location within walking distance of all the main attractions. We stayed 4 nights and found all the staff friendly and helpful, room was quiet and very well equipped. Hotel restaurant was good and plenty of other places to eat nearby.

We travelled with child and booked room via booking.com. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff especially Hotel Manager Javier, who was arrogant. Worn out tableware and dirty napkin. Good location, near to Gran Via.

+ centrally located, most sights in walking distance, Metro stations just around the corner + very kind staff + stylish interior + good breakfast + well equipped gym - very small room (actually too small for 2 persons with 2 suitcases) - Great views... had a wall right in front of our window

our stay was great. It's comfortable, it's well located, it's super clean, it has a free mini bar (yes, after years of traveling I finally found a free mini bar). I stayed in a couple other hotels in Madrid and they didn't come close to it, preciados is much better then the hotels which name is only two letters and... More

Excellent, friendly staff, clean, quiet, good food, central location. Close to museums. Excellent traditional bars can be hunted out nearby. Very good Flamenco at Corral de la Moreria. Fine dining (Michelin) at Santceloni.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
