Well situated in city center, still quiet enough for a good night's sleep. Easy access to major sightseeing and shopping locations. Nicely furbished rooms. Great breakfast buffet. Will return when in the area again.

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a short city break - the location is excellent with all the major tourist sites within a short 15 minute walk. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were comfortable, of a good size and clean. The attached restaurant has good value with attentive and friendly waiters. I will use... More

I'm tall and wanted to sleep in a king size bed so I booked the premium room. The room was nice with plenty of space and a nice bathroom. The room had a small balcony overlooking the street which was nice and added to the atmosphere. Even though the room faced the street it was very quiet at night. The... More

We really loved being in the middle of Centro and being able to walk to so many places. The rooms are very nice size and well appointed and the price was excellent. There is a very good restaurant and bar in the main floor

I chose Hotel Preciados due to us needing a room for three adults. The junior suite had the third bed but it turned out to be a pull out sofa(which was a comfortable med but low to the ground. This meant no seating area but for a one night stay this was ok. Getting a room with a balcony seemed... More

The hotel is a nice and quiet 4 star hotel in the heart of the shopping district. Its located on a pedestrian street with a lot of nightly activities and many good restaurants in walking distance. We had a junior suite and felt it was worth the extra cost. Not only is it bigger, the location in the hotel gets... More

Short version: I've travelled a lot so I know what a 100eur/nt (for a single) 3* hotel looks like - exactly like this. The problem is that this is a 143eur/nt 4* hotel! Granted, Madrid is a place where (my research showed) hotel standards are low given price and star rating, but I can't bring myself to recommend a place... More

It had air conditioning a comfortable bed and blasting shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful . Everyone at the front desk speaks english and there is a nice restaurant on the bottom floor.... More

Hotel is a refurbished old building in a very good location. A bit tricky to find if you are driving because of all the one way narrow streets. No so difficult with GPS. 10 minutes walk to the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor and San Miguel Market in one direction and about 20-25 minute walk to the Prado and the Botanic... More

Excellent location. Arrived by Metro from airport for 5EU. Lots to see and do within easy walking distance: historic sights, bustling public squares, hopping cafes and restaurants, shopping. Super friendly & helpful staff. Will definitely return.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
