Stayed 6 nights in Hotel Preciados, only complaint was a chipped cup in the room. Quiet, clean, comfortable, great location, friendly staff. They helped us rebook a night out when we discovered we had booked it for the wrong week. The restaurant was very good, all the staff were wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. They rooms were elegant and spacious. We had a balcony overlooking the streets. It went well beyond our expectations. Great location and staff was very curious and always attentive.

This is a tough one. The location alone makes this a great hotel. Central to everything in Madrid, on a pedestrian street. But my wife left her purse in the cab and the staff was less than helpful. NOTE all cabs in Madrid are white with a red stripe, make sure to get the EXACT company and driver name or... More

Excellent service and staff esp. Ana the receptionist who was a great help with her beautiful smile . Besides the good staff , the location is perfect almost closed to all the touristic places in Madrid. The hotel food is sooo good, and the breakfast is of great value.

Great location on the Pedestrian Street. (Luckily there is a small street a few yards from the front door, so taxi’s can leave you off easily (and some taxi’s will drive up onto the Pedestrian Street). We stayed there two times (at the front end of our Spain trip and back end). Both times we had a Premium Room (which... More

Great hotel. Very clean and classy, located on a gorgeous street just far enough away from the main square. Would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend. No complaints, nothing that I would change. I hope to visit Madrid again, and if I do, I will being staying at this hotel.

Arrived to a warm welcome and the concierge noted from our passports it was my partners birthday, wished her a happy birthday and later a bottle of Cava turned up to the room, a great touch, we had the superior room which was well worth the extra, good views over the rooftops and two balconies. Great location to walk to... More

Our standard room was modern, cozy and comfortable with double patio doors for street noise insulation at night. Step out to the busy city scene. We walked to most attractions. Breakfast buffet has great selection. Helpful and friendly staff.

excellent location, you can walk everywhere, even the museums are to be reached by foot. Hotel staff very friendly. We enjoyed very much to stay in this Hotel. Of course it is a bit noisy at night, but didn't bother us. Restaurant , Bars Cafe's just around the corner..

my son and I stayed at the Hotel Preciados on May 8th, 2015 for one night. Excellent hotel and location in Madrid. Room was very clean and comfortable. Complimentary wine was a nice touch. They organized taxi to the airport for our very early flight home. Would definitely stay at this hotel on my next visit to Madrid.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
