Nice friendly hotel, excellent location a few yards off the Gran Via, but not on it - so the traffic noise is much less. If you can get a top-floor room at the back of the hotel, the rooms have a large roof-terrace perfect for hot Summer nights. more

The hotel was in a good location, but felt run down. The air conditioning barely worked and they moved our room three times until they found a room with working a/c. The staff were all very nice and helpful. more

I arrived with 2 male friends on a lads long weekender on 1st May 2009. I was a bit nervous after reading some poor feedback on Trip Advisor, but i think some people miss the point - you get what you pay for. The room didn't have a great view, but we were only there for sleeping. We had a... more

I was very nervous about this hotel after I read the reviews. It turned out that the hotel was just fine. The rooms may have been small but that is usual in big cities. The room and the bathroom were both clean. The people at the desk in the lobby were helpful. The location is fabulous. We could walk to... more

I am currently sitting in Room 318. I have logged onto the internet to post my review. The other reviews saying that the staff are unhelpful is correct. My new wife and I dont speak Spanish so we asked the staff to call to confirm a tour. They refused. This is unlike any hotel we have stayed at during our... more

The hotel's location is excellent - a few yards off Gran Via. The reception area and bar are very nice. Breakfast room decor was very average. The cooked part of the breakfast - bacon, fried eggs and scrambled eggs - was unapettising and dreadfully presented. The cold buffet was pretty basic - expected better for what is a 4* hotel.... more

Don’t stay at the Hotel Mayorazgo. Dirty, tired, reception staff rude – needs to be demolished. Up to this stage of our trip we had researched and organized all our own accommodation. The 5 days that we spent in Spain we had decided to use a tour company. God knows why we did!! We also paid the extra dollars for... more

My first mistake was booking this hotel through the Marsans travel agent instead of just going on line as I had been doing my whole trip. The hotel seemed appropriate from the pictures, kind of a midieval theme with knights and armor, fitting considering I just came from Toledo. The staff at the front desk was neither friendly nor rude,... more

Staff were pleasant and helpful. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Just off Gran Via and very close to the metro line and therefore easily accessible from the airport. Cost for one metro journey was two euros, which included airport supplement. The breakfast catered for all tastes and was buffet style, with continental and cooked breakfasts available, and served from 7.30-11.00am.... more

My wife and I spent an interesting 36 hours in Madrid at the end of April 08. Our travel agent recommended the Mayorazgo as a reasonably priced hotel in the centre of Madrid so we decided to go there. The hotel staff were all very pleasant; the room was 'old style' by which I mean that it could easily have... more
