We spent 3 nights at the HRC. We booked two rooms with our teenagers in one and the other for ourselves. We loved the location, the street was quiet and the location was walking distance to lots of great restaurants and the metro. Our rooms were simple and clean and our kids loved that the free wi-fi had great signal.... More

The location of HRC was great. It was easy walking to many restaurants, bars and shopping. The staff were polite and courteous. The only problem I had with the room is we paid 20 extra euro each night for a room with a balcony and, twin bed and a double bed. To get to the balcony we had to step... More

The hotel is located in a neighborhood that is walking to many sites. The morning desk clerk, Jose Carlos, was exceptionally helpful and nice. The room was basic and actually roomy for Europe compared to American hotel rooms. We only had a street view since we were on the 1st floor. There is a small cafe attached to the hotel... More

I found HRC to be a good option for a budget hotel in Madrid. Good location in the Barrio La Latina, five minutes walk from many restaurants and bars. Rooms are quite spacious. I liked the breakfast - a lot of options and the price was moderate. Overall recommended for someone looking for a good clean hotel in a good... More

Never in my countless trips to Europe have I been met with an antagonistic hotel team. I mean, these people are not only rude but also mean! I have to be here 2 more day and I'm miserable. The staff is obtuse, unfriendly, and is unwilling to be unhelpful in the slightest. The rooms are hot, uncomfortable, with bad views.... More

Excelent location, at walking distance of some of the main attractions of Madrid. Despite beeing payed (20€ a night), was good to have a private parking because in Madrid is impossible to park in the streets. The most negative point was that at the booking we ask for a room on the top floor but the hotel give us only... More

A nice place close to the center of Madrid, Barrio la Latina, it is only minutes far from La Plaza Mayor, etc. It is nice, and I really mean it. Nice rooms, with clean bathrooms, obviously it is a 3 star hotel, but could be a 4 star if rooms were a bit bigger. Service is very friendly and fast.... More

Best part was the hotel room was very roomy and clean. The towels were extra thick. The bed was too firm for my tastes but they give you two pillows each so helped bed comfort. The shower was strange. It had two shower heads but we couldn't figure out the tall shower head. So only able to use the shorter... More

I was very happy with HRC. They were warm and welcoming. The last person who checked us out was especially pleasant. Our room was perfect and enough room for me and my sister. It was clean and accessible. We highly recommend!

Decent hotel for the price. It is a bit of a walk 10 -15 minutes to the key sites on the western side of the city and to good shopping. We stayed here as it was very close to a work meeting. There are lots and lots and lots of restaurants nearby. Some are excellent. I would have given four... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
