The hotel is located 15 minutes walk from Vicente Calderon stadium, which is very important when 40,000 fans are trying to use the metro together. Hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. Wifi is free and has good signal in the rooms. Nearest metro station is 3-4 minutes walk from the hotel. Take in mind that the hotel is far... More

I stayed at the HRC with my boyfriend last weekend. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay! Walking distance from everything, great room with an awesome balcony and such kind staff! Carlos was especially welcoming and accommodating and gave us fantastic recommendations of places to eat! So happy with our stay!

My husband and I planned a 17 day trip through Spain in November 2013 and Madrid was the last stop. We picked this hotel based on price and location and could not be happier that we did. The location was absolutely fantastic for seeing just about everything in center city Madrid and the rooms were clean. As for noise my... More

We stayed here for 3 days while visiting Madrid. We could not ask for a better location. We walked almost everywhere. The hotel was very clean and rooms were a good size for 2. Front desk staff were not overly helpful but still friendly enough. The free wifi was an extra bonus.

I chose the hotel because I was visiting my son and his flat was round the corner. Staying at the HRC was perfect for me and I discovered a part of Madrid I was not as familiar with, having previously stayed in hotels around the Prado and Thyssen Museums. The location is perfect, at the door step of the magnificent... More

This was my second stay at the HRC and both times were excellent. The staff are excellent - very helpful and friendly. Food at the cafeteria was simple but good quality and inexpensive. Room was typical European sized room at this price point, but was clean and fully functional. Location was great - a pleasant walk to many interesting parts... More

All was good on arrival but with the paper thin walls the noise from all directions including outside and other rooms was a massive distraction all night. Our shower was also terrible and leaked in several places. Will be seeking a refund!

Spent two nights in Madrid in Nov and stayed here. I had the roof top room with the wrap around balcony/terrace = absolutely amazing views across the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Next time I visit I'll definitely be staying there again!

Positives - Friendly and helpful staff. Location is excellent and within walking distance of many different landmarks in the City Centre. For football fans, it is also very close to Vicente Calderon if you are interested in going to see Atletico Madrid play or visit the club shop/museum. Negatives - Very noisy, had trouble sleeping most nights. The beds were... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
