I was very happy with HRC. They were warm and welcoming. The last person who checked us out was especially pleasant. Our room was perfect and enough room for me and my sister. It was clean and accessible. We highly recommend!

Decent hotel for the price. It is a bit of a walk 10 -15 minutes to the key sites on the western side of the city and to good shopping. We stayed here as it was very close to a work meeting. There are lots and lots and lots of restaurants nearby. Some are excellent. I would have given four... More

Hotel was decent to stay in. We had a corner room with was plenty big. And the shower was newish. Clean towels everyday. Breakfast is optional, but why eat there when Mercado de San Miguel is a short walk away. Near the San Francisco el Grande. So if you have the hop on or hop off ticket it is very... More

I recently stayed in this hotel for 4 days, when we arrived we clearly inconvenienced the receptionist who was on the phone and was quite rude to us and told us nothing about the hotel; I have seen reviewers mention breakfast, I don't know if you get breakfast included because we were never told where it was or what time.... The HRC staff was very friendly especially the afternoon guy (sorry, can't remember his name) who gave us some good restaurant suggestions. The location was really great. Perfect walking distance to everything we wanted to see and there were tons of restaurants nearby (most close for the afternoon, though so eat a big lunch!) The accommodations were clean and had... It was our first time in Madrid and this hotel was great. The hotel is within walking distance of metro stations and longer walking distance to Sol, Grand Via and etc. Staff was polite and helpful. We arrived early to Madrid and allowed us to stow our suitcases away, help setup ground transportation. Room small but clean. The area is... More

For three people, we got a fairly spacious room with a small foyer of sorts and a narrow hallway from which the bathroom and bedroom stemmed. The hotel is located in a non-touristy neighborhood, but relatively close to La Latina (which is the next stop over on the metro). The metro ~5min walk from the hotel. One noteable name is... More

If you like great customer service, this is spot to stay. Rare to find service like this any more. The location is slightly away from the madness of the center (SOL) but only just. Thoroughly recommend this hotel

I really enjoyed staying here the staff was very kind and helpful. The room was for three of us and it was spacious enough it was clean and the cleaning lady was also very kind. We were close to la Latina neighborhood walking distance to the palace. The subway was very close to get to the Prado museum. Jose Carlos... More

The hotel was set by European destinations. It's a decent hotel in La Latina. Not sure why but it smelled like gummy bears. It's not a central area with a lot of tourist trap shops and restaurants which we appreciated greatly. We were lucky to be steps away from the best dinner we had in Madrid...restaurant Los Angeles. Service was... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
