Great Location - walking distance to 2 metro stations. Near restaurants and convenience stores. Easy access to pharmacy on the corner. Several ATMs within walking distance. The hotel staff is friendly and will remember you usually after your second visit. Staff is eager to assist with taxis, directions, translations, etc. I always stay at the Best Western Trafalgar when I... More

I've been staying at the Hotel Trafalgar for the past six years, whenever I'm in Madrid for business. It's pretty much bare bones with few frills but the price is excellent, the location, while out of the center, is still convenient, but the key point is that they take care of their place and it shows. Nothing is luxury here... More

This hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable, safe, and well located. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We felt for the price the hotel was an excellent value and would recommend it for those traveling on a budget.

Nice location and nice staff, but keep in mind that rooms are tiny and storing luggage is DIFFICULT. Impeccable cleanliness and quietness of interior rooms. The Jamones restaurant across the street has excellent free tapas and great wines and beer. Good "menu" daily as well. Hotel's access to bus 37 which goes down to Atocha station with stops at Plaza... More

I chose this hotel as I had stayed there before in 2010 and was impressed by the service and value for money. This time, the service was mixed - the doorman provided excellent, helpful service, but the attitude of the Receptionist was less helpful. For business reasons, I needed to vacate the hotel before the breakfast restaurant opened - so... More

When I went to Madrid I stayed at this hotel for a few days towards the end of August 2014. The location and price are both good, the neighborhood felt safe, access to internet, printer and the rooms were neat and clean. One of the best parts about this location is the ‘Jamon’ café across the street offering great morning... More

We stayed here for two nights along with our daughter & her family. It is located in a decent locality with public transport available nearby. The rooms were slightly bigger than the normal European standard ,and clean. The breakfast was however, disapponting with very little variety and in a cramped basement room. There are many good food joints available close by ,which one can... My friend and I shared a nice sized room and were happy to be able to rent a refrigerator instead of trying to cram our own things inside of a minibar. The staff was friendly and helpful accepting delivery for us of food that met our dietary needs and providing the caterer with payment so that we could go out... More

I stayed here and was pleasantly surprised by the spacious room, since European hotels are usually on the smaller side. The room had a large desk and comfortable atmosphere with a gorgeous balcony. While it was about a 20-30 minute walk from the main areas, I found it very reasonably priced and the service was fantastic. It seems that Best... More

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
