Get buzzed upstairs into a posh building rented by lawyers and private doctors and take the lift to the 7th floor. Inside the private owner has invested all her time and money in regenerating the space into a chic urban mini hotel (or B&B as its billed). The design is brilliant, the place is immaculate and the overall experience terrific.... More

We stayed at Lapepa at the end of June and like it. Small setting and great service. We went back to Madrid for one night before going back to the USA and they did not have a room. Paula, the director went out of her way to fins us accommodation at a similar hotel. I would go back without for... More

We had a marvelous stay. A brilliant location on the Plaza de las Cortes close to all the major museums. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. Irma, the manager was really helpful and a great host. All in all very good value

This little b & b was a fantastic find in Madrid. It's located within easy walking distance of many brilliant sights and restaurants. Rooms were simple, clean, and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had an enjoyable 4 night stay and would certainly return.

La Pepa Chic (Madrid Spain) We stayed at this small, modern B&B June 24/29th. The location at Plaza de las Cortes is very central and it’s easy to access the sights and Atocha Rail Terminal. The staff, Paula, Irma and Anca were very efficient, friendly and always willing to help and provide any information needed. The hotel is spotlessly clean... More

Stayed with my mum at this wonderful b & b. Our room was bright, spacious with comfy beds and a great view of the city. The staff were all really friendly and extremely helpful. Great location too, just a few minutes walk to the Prado and right next to the Museo Thyssen-bornemisza which we loved. Madrid is such a beautiful... More

This is a wonderful place to stay for budget-conscious travellers-- you can't beat the location and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Our room was large (a double bed and a twin) and clean and came with our own bathroom (small but adequate-- no hair-dryer in the room, but one available from the front desk). Paula and the rest of... I really enjoyed my stay at Lapepa Chic B&B. The room was clean, comfortable and well decorated. The bed was comfortable and a good night's sleep is guaranteed due to the fact that despite being in a central location- no noise from the street below could be heard. The one thing that really made this place stand out for me... More

We stayed six nights at Lapepa Chic so had ample time to evaluate this charming bed and breakfast. Paula was a delightful hostess ... so engaging, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about the city and its people. For us, the location was ideal as it was within *easy* walking distance to all the attractions we wanted to visit such as the Prado,... More

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighborhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
