The hotel is in a very good location short walk from plaza Del Sol, Metro, and also Calle Gran Via. Shopping and places to eat are everywhere. The Palacio de Madrid is a short walk and so are some museums. The metro is a short walk to del sol or Calle gran via and will take you to most any... More

A very good hotel in the centre of Madrid. I can't say enough about the location. You can wander around the many tapas bars, museums, shops etc and stop back at the hotel before going out again. It's worth staying here just for the convenience. I asked for a quiet room, they gave us the forth floor at the back... More

What a treat this hotel was! Besides the wonderful rooms, lobby, restaurant (breakfasts are really well presented, great variety, and tasty), the staff are amazing, particularly the concierges. Our luggage was lost for 4 days and they did all they could do to get it for us. They showed genuine concern and were on the phone as much as possible... More

Good value for money. Nice rooms, are cleaned twice a day. Comfortable beds. The staff not fluent in English but much better than the rest of Madrid citizens. Very helpful staff. Haven;t tried the food but looks okay. The location unbeatable.

We just completed a five night stay and found this to be a great place to see Madrid. Excellent value and you couldn't find a better location in Madrid. 2 minute walk to the vibrant Puerto del Sol plaza (and metro station), 15 minute walk to the palace, 20 minute walk to the Prado Museum. We paid extra to include... More

Stayed here for a short 3 night break. Chose based on reviews and location and was not disappointed. Close to Plaza del Sol, hotel was very comfortable, we were on top floor, 8th everything in room was wroking, bed was comfortable, AC worked TV had sky news and BBC world news if you want it. Bathroom was a litle dated,... More

This hotel was close to Plaza del Sol and within easy walking distance to other attractions, shopping and restaurants. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. I am a light sleeper and found it be fairly quiet up until the last night which was just before Labour Day in Europe and it was very noisy with crowds in the streets.... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
