We stayed here for 4 days in Madrid. The location is excellent and we could walk everywhere from this easy to access hotel. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. Lots of fresh fruit. we had dinner her and the menu was great as well as the wine. The staff are attentive. The room was clean and simple but perfect place to... More

I always choose this hotel when I come to Madrid for work: the location is simply unbeatable, the staff friendly and I really like the generous breakfast buffet (lots of fresh fruits, breads and pastries in particular). The rooms are not incredible, but very good for the price. They have a small gym, which is well-liked when travelling for work!

Stayed last week based on previous reviews. Was disappointed with the hotel, it was very noisy due to renovations on next door building on our first morning and we couldn't use the air conditioning as the heating was turned on! We didn't eat there but used the bar once, it was very expensive but the service by the bar lady... More

Very nice hotel right in the central district of Madrid. Oppulent lobby and rooms were clean. Only problem was housekeeping staff forgot to give us clean towels in the bathroom. They took the used ones but did not replace. We had to call every night for towels. A little surprising for a hotel that is on the high end. But... More

The hotel was just fine and in a pretty good location, but I don't speak Spanish and had some difficulty in doing simple things like trying to order room service or even ordering in the restaurant. While the concierge and front desk folks could speak English, none of the people in the restaurant could speak ANY English. I was traveling... More

I booked this hotel mainly because it was rather cheap, with the good reviews. The hotel maintenance was okay, but still the building was old and some staffs seemed to have undesirable attitude towards some of their customers. I won't recommend this hotel to my friends.

I will agree with all other comments: very clean hotel, friendly staff, nice breakfast, strong, reliable free wifi signal everywhere, the fastest checkin and checkout I have ever made, perfect location (in the middle of everything but still quiet), very close to sightseeing, Metro Stations, restaurants, shops, bars, cinemas, theaters. I would highly recommend it and stay there again when... More

Neighborhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
