Nice building and services in thecity centre. The place is comfortable, the staff is friendly and it is at walking distance from the best museums, shopping centres and areas. Gran Via theaters and cinemas are right there. I tequested a room service and the staff was friendly enough to offer variations to the menu that could bettter suit my preferences.... More

We stayed 6 nights. On arrival we were given a room without a view that we did not like, the reception promised to move us on the next day. So it was, the next morning they nocked on our door without having to remind them, with the key of the new room overlooking the square. The hotel is a bit... More

Visited Madrid for the weekend. Booked this hotel for a friend & myself. Hotel was clean, tidy and comfortable. The wifi in the room was great, managed to organise or weekend and stream some music in our down time. I will be recommending this to family and friends, and I would stay again. The breakfast was good, not the best... More

Second time staying here.Hotel in quiet square near Gran Via.Fantastic central location and preferable to staying on noisy and busy Gran Via where a lot of hotels are situated.Rooms good sized if a tad old fashioned.Recomended Argentinian restaurant De Maria on adjacent street whilst Valour and Le Central around corner good for coffee etc.A very good choice particularly for first... As my title suggests, one of the best things about this hotel is its central location - aside from a taxi from Atocha station and the taxi from the hotel to the airport, I never needed any other transport other than my feet, to nearly all the tourist attractions in Madrid. It was literally right behind Gran Via, a 5... More

We really liked this hotel! Beautiful well appointed room and bathroom. Very nice staff. Excellent location (though google maps has crap walking directions be careful!) but we found it in the end after asking some nice policemen (multiple times). Newspapers on offer, easy to check in, safe in room. The only thing I wanted was some coffee. But you could... More

Madrid in December? Not an obvious choice, but will do it again! This hotel was perfect and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful and location was brilliant. Eating out was surprisingly cheap and Xmas shopping was fantastic! El Corte Ingles was just around the corner and the Mercado de san Miguel was very close. Set taxi fares... More

Great location in the middle of the city. Close to many shopping streets. Around 25 min walk to Prado museum and around 15 min walk to Temple of Debod and Royal place. Room was very clean with air-condition and safe box, fast wifi and TV with many channels (including BBC and CNBC). Highly recommended.

Great, clean hotel right in the middle of Madrid. Easy walking distance to many of the main sights of this wonderful city. We had a corner room which had dual aspect. Great room, very clean. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Would definitely go back when we return to Madrid.

From the hotel, it's a short walk to the El Cortes Ingles department store, the Plaza de la Puerto del Sol, the Mercado de San Maguel, the Plaza Mayor, and the Gran Via. It took us 20 minutes to get to the Palais Real, and it was a pleasant 30 minutes walk to the Prado. We also found a reasonable... More

Neighborhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
