Can't fault this hotel, breakfast excellent and staff friendly would definitely visit again and recommend. The location is walking distance from all major attractions and Metro stops at Callao and Opera.

We stayed for a week in a handicapped room (my husband is an amputee) at the Intur Palacio and I could not have asked for more for the price. The location was perfect for our needs. There were several good restaurants within two blocks and a large department store one block away. We were within easy walking distance of public... More

My husband and I just came back from our Madrid trip and stay at this property. The staff was always friendly, helpful, the location is excellent, and the room where simple, but modern and clean. I am VERY picky with hotel bathrooms and this one was perfect. In summary, I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommended.

Perfect central location to visit Madrid. Very good value for money. The rooms are great but with old decoration style. You can benefit from a welcome beer. Romantic packages are also available at reasonable extra cost. The staff is friendly and helpful however the level of English is not always the best at the reception desk. Next time in Madrid,... I booked this hotel after having read the many good reviews. However i was slightly disappointed. To make it short, our room on the 2nd floor was rather old and furnished in the style found 25 or 30 years ago. The beds are low and the mattress hard and unflexible, no duvet but an old cover between 2 sheets -... More

My room was in the basement - ground floor. There was no natural light and the windows were closed. Thx God empty rooms were available and I moved to third floor with price increase, but it deserved. Although just few speak English in all Spain, I've never had problems. Somehow we could manage. The staff are very friendly and helpful... More

Our room was in the basement although they were considering it ground floor. There was no natural light at all and we didn't know what was the weather like. The wifi signal was really weak and the stuff although it was friendly wasn't so helpful.

Nice building and services in thecity centre. The place is comfortable, the staff is friendly and it is at walking distance from the best museums, shopping centres and areas. Gran Via theaters and cinemas are right there. I tequested a room service and the staff was friendly enough to offer variations to the menu that could bettter suit my preferences.... More

We stayed 6 nights. On arrival we were given a room without a view that we did not like, the reception promised to move us on the next day. So it was, the next morning they nocked on our door without having to remind them, with the key of the new room overlooking the square. The hotel is a bit... More

Visited Madrid for the weekend. Booked this hotel for a friend & myself. Hotel was clean, tidy and comfortable. The wifi in the room was great, managed to organise or weekend and stream some music in our down time. I will be recommending this to family and friends, and I would stay again. The breakfast was good, not the best... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
