The hotel is lovely and very comfortable. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well appointed. Staff at the Madroño were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location is convenient, blocks away from several metro station, and there are good restaurants in the neighborhood. Breakfast is served at the hotel every morning and was wonderful. The breakfast included an assortment of... More

Large and bright room, nicely decorated ("style room"), with a small living-rom and basic kitchen. Very comfortable bed, really! Very friendly and thoughtful staff. Very good breakfast. Excellent location 50m from "Diego Leone" metro station. Overall excellent price-quality ratio...

This is a very well located hotel with lots of bars and restaurants nearby, also metro stations very close. Staff was very nice, I had an issue with my reservation which was quickly solved, however they offered breakfast for free. Thank you. Sunday night was especially noisy, I think garbage trucks were doing their job outside, but can't blame the... More

This is not the Ritz. Instead it is a very comfortable, convenient, clean, and efficient studio like flat on a quiet street in Madrid. Stayed a week with my wife and we loved it. The staff are wonderful. Nice bed, bathroom, kitchenette, and sitting area. Can't wait to return.

This hotel is impressive, has a great location, big rooms and offers additional services which are great, however it lacks quite rooms. At least in my case: the rooms were clairaudient, as every little noise from the floor was hearable and the ventilation in the room was quite disturbing as you could not switch it off. Overall adequate price, still... More

We spent 3 nights here. On arrival, without letting us know, the reception staff took the full cost of our stay. I know some hotels do this but they should have told us first as we had planned on using a different card from the one we had booked with. A little inconvenient and rather annoying. None of the staff... More

Good location, I got a Double Style modern room. There's a grocery nearby so you can cook at their modular kitchenette if you wanted. The one thing that bothered me was the pungent B.O. that came either from the mattress or the comforter. They really should launder or clean the mattress more often during warm weather. It wasn't strong enough... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
