Loved this hotel. It was very clean and the reception staff were very nice and accommodating. The bed wonderfully comfortable, nice and quiet and a good sized ensuite. Breakfast was amazing plenty of choice and wifi was very good. Only down side was probably the location it was a way from the Plaza Major and other sites but nice and... More

THis was a great place to stay, with easy access by metro both from the airport and to the main sights. The nearest metro station - Diego Leon - is only 150 or so metres away. The room was huge and well-equipped with a comfortable bed, good shower and loo, settee and fridge, microwave, hotplate etc. Good wifi too. The... More

Great rooms for the price, with good clean and newish fitted rooms. Great bathrooms and beds. A few nice restaurants close by and good walking distance (15 to 20 minutes) to other great restaurants. City Tour buses are approx. 20 minutes walk, purchase tickets at the hotel reception.

Booked hotel via link on Easy Jet web site, turned out to be a good choice. Close to Metro, area felt 'safe'. Good selection of places local for breakfast at a very reasonable price. Hotel was very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. If air-con on it could be a little noisy but some ear plugs sorted that. Plenty hot water,... More

I was expecting a very "European" style hotel room, in which everything was small and compact. Instead we got a very spacious room, with a separate couch, and a lot of walking room. I was pretty impressed overall. Rooms were clean of course, location was spot on, since it was only a few blocks from the Metro. I'm not sure... More

On one way street and noise from main steer one block off is barely recognizable. Noise is absorbed by distance and well insulated windows. Parking in house. Clean cut rooms with sufficient space and large enough bathroom. Just around the corner (100 meter) of the Diego de Leon Metro station. Good restaurants are close. Advantage is, that one is not... Pros: Spacious, clean rooms. Good price. Close to metro which you will have to take to get pretty much anywhere as it isn't really within walking distance of the main tourist areas of interest. Staff was very kind. Cons: Not actually a hotel but rather an apartment building. Breakfast available for 10 euros if you book in advance or 15... More

It was a great choice to stay in this hotel during our six days in Madrid. The place is simply very very clean! The room is big and nicely decorated. Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
