I was expecting a very "European" style hotel room, in which everything was small and compact. Instead we got a very spacious room, with a separate couch, and a lot of walking room. I was pretty impressed overall. Rooms were clean of course, location was spot on, since it was only a few blocks from the Metro. I'm not sure... More

On one way street and noise from main steer one block off is barely recognizable. Noise is absorbed by distance and well insulated windows. Parking in house. Clean cut rooms with sufficient space and large enough bathroom. Just around the corner (100 meter) of the Diego de Leon Metro station. Good restaurants are close. Advantage is, that one is not... Pros: Spacious, clean rooms. Good price. Close to metro which you will have to take to get pretty much anywhere as it isn't really within walking distance of the main tourist areas of interest. Staff was very kind. Cons: Not actually a hotel but rather an apartment building. Breakfast available for 10 euros if you book in advance or 15... More

Dear guest, Many thanks for the opinion you have shared in TripAdvisor about our VP Madroño. We are glad you found our rooms comfortable, clean and spacious. It was a great choice to stay in this hotel during our six days in Madrid. The place is simply very very clean! The room is big and nicely decorated. There is a small kitchenette so you can prepare simple food. If you are staying in double room with a third person (sleeping on a sofa is absolutely ok, I... More

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights while we visited with our daughter who lives nearby. Check in was friendly and is spacious. We had a twin style on the 1st floor facing the garden (rear). The room is spacious and has a sitting area with a small kitchenette. This has all been recently updated in a modern... More

Nice hotel, beautiful rooms, good beds. Breakfast is in a rather depressing room in the basement, but the food is fine, lots of choice. Wifi is charged. Unfortunately the rooms are rather noisy, other guests walking or talking in other rooms or the hallway woke me up several times.

The rooms are as fantastic as they advertise. With lots of space, very large beds and a full kitchenette.Bathroom is large and with modern appliances (a little too modern perhaps). Staff is helpful. Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
