Our travel agent did tell us this was a business hotel. Nevertheless, we found our room to be comfortable and have the amenities that we desired in a vacation. We had a comfortable bed, chair to sit and relax or read and a desk area. Having a room safe was a plus too. The tub/shower combination was a bit too... More

I am a regular guest in this hotel on business travel. The rooms are very comfortable and the attentiveness and courtesy of staff are exemplary. Breakfast is excellent. The only down side is street noise. Madrid is a bustling city and, especially if your room is towards the main street, traffic noise throughout the night can spoil your sleep.

This was our first trip to Madrid and we booked the hotel on the strength of Trip Advisor reviews. It is well placed being but a short walk to the Plaza Espana & the Royal Palace but on the opposite side of the centre to the Prado & other art galleries. Our room on the 12th floor was comfortable although... More

our first introduction to Melia Princesa was the very efficient and impersonal person who checked us in. For 60 euro per room per night we could upgrade to better views. This hotel was a distance away from downtown Madrid. The room was very clean although walls were so thin you could hear every door slam all night long. Any request... More

I would highly recommend upgrading your stay at the hotel to The Level experience, well worth the cost with exceptional concierge service, lounge and tapas/spirits. The hotel and rooms are decorated in a contemporary style and are very clean. Excellent location to transportation and a short stroll to Plaza.

From the lobby, to the room, the the location and to the service you would be hard pressed to find a Hotel in Madrid doing a better job. The lobby is beautiful and the executive lounge is literally six stairs from the front desk, so you can be pouring your self a drink and having a snack within minutes of... More

Stayed for two nights and hotel met expectations. We upgraded to the 'level' which cost 100 euros per night for three adults. For that we received entry to the spa, breakfast, and to the level buffet area which comprises unlimited snacks and drinks (alcohol included). Room was large with decent bed and shower. Breakfast very good with wide range of... More

Rooms are very clean, quiet and relaxed. Location is perfect, 10 minutes walk to the city center. You can go walk most places in city center.. Near the hotel there is metro station. Personal are very friendly.

This hotel is luxurious and awesome. If you can afford it, you should stay here. I was staying here for a work conference and had a great time. The location was a touch out of the way for most of the cultural things and sightseeing, but it meant that it was quiet for sleeping which was much appreciated.

Staying in Arguelles

Neighborhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
