Says 5 stars on map, definitely very nice, breakfast is hard to beat with egg attendant. Wide selection of fruit, cereals, pastries, meats and cheeses. Service staff top rate in getting reservations and directions. Love the modern decor. Was asked to step up to "the level", but at 60€/day, hard to justify since we don't drink a lot, and as... More

I stayed at Melia Princesa for two nights with my partner, we upgraded our room which meant we had access to 'The Level' - free drinks and tapas throughout the day from 7.30 am - 11pm. The food was delicious and there was a very good variety of drinks. I highly recommend upgrading for this!! The staff were pleasant, and... More

I stayed in this hotel in August 2015 with my family and as I have kids and particularly my eldest one wanted to go for a swim I upgraded the room by paying extra 110 euros per night but the only problem is that pool is only open from 11am to 7pm so if you are in the city for... More

Dear hsingh100, Thank you very much for the time you have taken to share your comments. We regret you were not satisfied with the spa and its availability to the public. Although located inside the hotel, it is managed by a third part and they put its own schedules wich are, in addition, reduced during the summer. We would like... More

We chose this hotel for our four day stay in Madrid because of its central location, but also because the website says they have a gym and a swimming pool. When we arrived we were told that although the gym and pool are on the property, it's run by another company and would normally incur an extra charge to use... More

I recently stayed at this hotel for four nights. Upon arrival I upgraded my room to the Level service as recommended by other reviews. This meant that I could use the swimming + gym facilities at the hotel without paying a per use charge and there was also a small all-day buffet for Level members. However, the pool is disappointing... More

My husband and I spent 12 nights at the Melia Princesa in July. We opted for the Level service. Our rom was on the 12th floor (the Level floor) and was nicely appointed but difficult to “navigate”…not very ergonomically designed. We were generally pleased with our experience but offer the following recommendations to the management for their consideration. • Have... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighborhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
