The hotel is about 25 mins taxi ride from Madrid Airport, it costs approx €25, be warned they charge up to €5 extra for going to/from the airport, luggage and if travelling at the weekend. We arrived at the hotel on the Saturday and it was hot around 95F so we were hoping to spend the afternoon by the pool,... more

I have stayed at the Welllington Hotel for at least a week every year since 2002. I just made my reservation for this August. Last year I had a minor problem which was handled immediately. The staff has always done everything possible to to solve any problem I have including things that are outside the the normal expectations of a... more

Stayed here to attend a couple of business meetings in Oct 2008. The hotel is in a nice location with a park across the street and looks nice from the outside. My only problem with the area is there are few restaurants / shops within the immediate vicinity and most seemed to be a 10 minute walk away. The staff... more

We booked our 3 nights the hotel after reading TripAdvisor reviews. By using American Express when we booked, we were guaranteed an upgrade. We were given a spectacular suite, on an upper floor, with a large terrace. The price included the delicious breakfast each morning. We were intrigued by the bull-fight connections while staying at the Wellington. There was live... more

Quite simply, one of the best hotels in Madrid. A cut above. A professionally-run hotel. Spacious, plush rooms, palatial bathrooms, helpful staff, excellent location in downtown Madrid. Close to the Retiro Park. Excellent bar. A tad expensive, but worth it. They were offering deals for 4 nights or more. more

Rooms very clean, beds extremely comfortable, bath well appointed with all the necessary items available, linens and towells very good quality. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet, staff personable, efficient and helpful to a degree. For the price it met our needs totally, no street noise at all, area surrounding the rooms... more

Although location and service is ok the rooms (clean enough ) are very old styled and too depressing. Additionally exept reception there is a problem if you dont speak spanish , they hardly understand you. If you want to vist the center of the city you can even walk or use the subway that is safe and runs till late more

We did lots of research on this web site and others in choosing our hotel in Madrid and we are delighted to recommend the Hotel Wellington. The room was spacious, especially for Europe, as was the bathroom: we had a double room. The location is near all the major sights and is in the lovely Salamanca area - good shopping,... more

As small-children parents we wanted to give ourselves a real treat after some very busy months, Hotel Wellington in Madrid turned out to be the perfect spot! Expensive yes, but the breakfast is to die for and the spacious rooms has an era of elegance from the old days. Marble bathroom with a large bath tub and dimmed lights made... more
