Stayed for few nights as a part of business trip in mid Spring 2014. Hotel is conveniently located near Reiro park. Whuch in itself a place to see in Madrid - probably one of the biggest and most beautoful parks I have ever seen. Also Prada museum is is 8-10 min by foot. Other attractions of Madrid city centre are... More

We too were there for the Champions League quarter finals. We actually watched a game in the hotel in a special room they set up. Didn't find anyone snooty. Everyone was very helpful and we had a lovely room. The Japanese restaurant in the hotel was great and very accommodating even though we heard it was hard to get a... More

We are here now checking out tomorrow it is a very nice hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful... Israel in the English bar has be a pleasure to visit. He has told us skit about Madrid. The hotel is not located in the middle of the party area. Which is nice as we see people like to stay... More

Just an overnight stay for the Champions league quarter finals. Great location and has 2 good restaurants. The Basque restaurant is supposed to be great. Tried room service and the breakfast and both were great. Nice rooms. Overall excellent. Try the restaurant Eudlis opposite the hotel - it's fantastic food.

This was our least favourite hotel in Madrid. After travelling round spain we were really looking forward to staying here. However, the customer service was awful and there was an air of superiority amongst the staff. We stayed when madrid was very hot and arrived to check in in beach wear type clothes. Staff were rude and treated us like... More

This is an old fashioned Eurpean establishment with class. Outstanding location. Nice and courteous service. The breakfast was the same everyday, no variation in hot offerings buffet. I respectfully beleve hotel is not worth what they charge in general, though.

Perhaps rating this hotel too critically may be a bit unfair, as many aspects of staying there are positive. Its best aspect is its location, which is perhaps, the most ideal in Madrid. It is a moderate walk from the Prado Museum, and sits in the best neighborhood in the city - a neighborhood similar to Madison Avenue and 76th... More

Satisfied with the hotel itself. However after I got back to the US I discovered they had charged me an additional 5% for "exchange rate". I like to think what I sign for is what I pay for. Hotel was unwilling to do anything for me when I complained.

Very good hotel, well situated for the city. Plenty of excellent restaurants close by. The city centre is about 30 minutes walk but there is a convenient metro which takes you there in a few minutes. Hotel was clean, quiet and very attentive. The lounge is excellent and the gin and tonics even better. We did not eat in the... More

Stayed for a night in November. The rooms are very nicely appointed with very nice amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is about 15/20 minute walk from the Prado through the Parque de Retiro.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
