Stayed here for 5 nights in a business trip end of september beginning of october.. Not a bad hotel. Location wise not the best for the convention centre however that was our fault! Nice staff who try to speak english again not their fault but ours. Small elevator. Large room with balcony around, big bathroom. Bed was ridiculously hard however... More

Madrid was very busy during my visit and this hotel was able to fulfil our booking requirements. It is situated in a narrow side street and has little in the way of facilities. The lobby area is tiny with only 3 or 4 seats. The small breakfast room doubles as the bar, and in the evenings it has a rather... More

Nothing to complain about. Great location. Nice, clean and comfortable room. Large variety of thing for breakfast. Metro, buses and nice restaurants nearby. I travelled alone and went around safely at night.

Arrived at the hotel, checked in and went to my room, nobody offered to help me with my heavy suitcase, which I was obviously struggling with. When I got to my room, the smell of cigarette smoke was overbearing, both in the bathroom and in the bedroom. I went back to reception to ask to be moved to another room,... More

If you like to camp on the floor or a wooden plank bed, then this one is for you. I give it one star because it is an enclosed space in a nice area. Other than that, don't feel bad that they didn't give you your wake up call. You don't miss anything by missing this breakfast. The coffee is... More

For the last 15 years, the Serrano has been our hotel in Madrid. Although it may seem to some travelers old fashioned and perhaps not as fashionable as others in the Salamanca quarter, the room space, cleanliness and always friendly service, as well as the value and location are the best we've found in Madrid when one is planning a... A simple hotel without great luxury, with everything you need, without spoiling anything missing, very good service, and very good value. A fully satisfactory experience: likely to repeat highly recommended

The is an old-fashion hotel with refurbished rooms in a vintage style. Rooms are comfortable and big enough; toilets definitely need some reforms. But overall this is a good place to stay for a few days. The restaurant reminds me a 60s restaurant with those tacky chairs and curtains, but breakfast has a wide variety of options and food is... For a week's stay in Madrid, we chose this hotel in an excellent location - quiet and residential, yet with plenty of good restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. Best of all: its situation, being only a short distance from the city centre and on several bus and Metro routes. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, and... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
