Booked this hotel for that shear fact that its right bang in the centre of the city, you can't get lost, you'll always find something to eat and lots of shopping too! Hubby and I got to our hotel first 2 days before the rest of the family, 8 more. Used my phone map to get from the airport to... More

We stayed here for four nights whilst on a city Break in Madrid... It was perfect! Its right in the middle of the hustle and bustle and our room looked over the main drag so it was great for people watching after an evening out in the city... The hotel is placed dead centre in the middle of madrid so... More

Stayed for one night on a business trip, they made a generic hotel and didn't bother to maintain it. The first room I got was dirty (and I am not difficult) but I had to ask for a change. In the second one (here I am while writing) the TV doesn't work and the place is looking run down. To... More

This one is right there - in the heart of the Madrid City Center!....and if you are on one of those touristic visits, you could not ask for a better location to stay in. The property itself is a tad disappointing though once you enter in. It has one of those quaint old lifts, super small rooms, with even smaller... More

This hotel could not be in a better location, but unfortunately the bathroom was really in need of some serious upgrading the door only closed if you put all your weight behind it. I think where the shower had leaked its swollen the wood. The actual shower didnt work properly only the hand held part for washing hair. The rest... More

Stayed here last week and cannot fault it. The location could not be better, the staff were extremely friendly, on checking in the receptionist took time out to offer me a city map and marked on it the primary places of interest. For the price it is an absolute bargain.

We spent three nights in this hotel and found it extremely convenient and good value for money given where it is located. You can easily walk to the Prado and the museums district through picturesque streets lined with cafes and restaurants. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. Only suggestion is that the hotel install triple glazing on... More

We spent three nights at the PP londres in October 2014. It is a fantastically Central location just off Sol in a pedestrian precinct. It is surprisingly quiet. Very good location, walking distance to most important places to visit. Room was not so small and bathroom was big. The breakfast was excellent, with fruit, ham, cheese, etc. Very good relation Price-quality.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
