On arriving the receptionists were very helpful and quickly checked us in. They offered to assist with any restaurant bookings for our stay. The rooms were spacious and cleaned daily with fresh towels. The breakfast was good with an array of cooked meats eggs and cold cheese hams fruit and pastries, yoghurt etc. Very pleased with location of hotel as... More

Nice hotel, great location (between metro station sol and gran via) breakfast is ok but it would be nice if they change the items every other day. Friendly staff speak English very well. There is a small elevator. They come to clean the room every day.

We stayed in this hotel for four nights, location is good, clean room, front desk ladies are helpful! But wifi was so weak and the fridge was not working, furniture is old specially the carpet they need to change it! But guess what !! We only paid 240 euro total for all nights! this hotel is good value for money.

We spent 6 nights in the hotel and we were very satisfied. It was very clean and good size room. The staf was very friendly and helpful. The only thing that I didn't like was the beeakfast, since it was not a health breakfast. I defently recommend this hotel without breakfast!!!

This was our 4th and final hotel on our 2 week/4 city trip throughout Spain. All of the hotels were of the same approximate star level on all of the travel websites we checked, however this hotel, by far, was well below our expectations after staying at the previous 3. Pros: Location.....was perfect for us. Close to so much. Front... More

Stayed here for a week's work in Madrid and invited my husband to accompany me. Had a lovely week in the city and the hotel. It was very friendly and comfortable with an excellent breakfast. The location was perfect for exploring Madrid.

We stayed for 3 nights and on arrival were very pleased with its central location and quiet street. We were shown to our room which was fine except for the fact that it overlooked a concrete wall. We asked for a room at the front which they immediately agreed to. Huge mistake! The room itself was bigger with a view... More

Our room was broken into and the safe was lifted from the room and walked out using a piece of our luggage. The police showed me how easy it was done with just a pocket knife. Passports, credit cards and cash stolen. The hotel promised to pay for our loss but as soon as we left it has not returned... More

The hotel is in the perfect location in Madrid, near to 4 metro stops, 2 of which being Gran Via and Sol. We were there for the Madrid Open so we spent very little time in the hotel, however, the rooms were comfortable, the shower was very good which is very important to me and there was air conditioning which... Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
