We had very low expectations of this hotel going this trip but we were very happy with it. You get a lot for the money. Good room service, good location, clean rooms, clean bathrooms, big rooms. We actually were able to sleep 4 people in this room on the two twin beds. It was a tight squeeze but it was... more

Decent enough hotel, centrally located, sure, but the surroundings are not very pleasant. "Working girls" standing around here and there, and littered streets bring the grade down. The hotel and its ameniteis are perfectly OK, but don't book a room facing Gran Vía - it's really noisy! The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful, but the staff... more

The Gran Via is in the heart of historical Madrid, within walking distance from almost everything, but the Hotel tryp is definitely NOT recommendable. Ok, it's not their fault if the hotel is located at the corner of Calle de la Montera - an infamous pedestrian area of Madrid, populated by a collection of ugly street hookers; after all, maybe... more

To start, this hotel did not have my pre-paid reservation. The rude staff didn't seem to care that I had already paid for my room and barely seemed concerned that they did not have a room for me to stay. Once they finally arranged to put me in a room, the room was next to the old loud elevator and... more

I just got back from a three day stay at the Hotel Tryp Gran Via. THE LOCATION IS AMAZING. It is located at the heart of Madrid in the middle of the Gran Via. Everything (museums, shopping, food) was right at my fingertips. The rooms were clean (albeit the smell of smoke) and the street noise wasn't too bothersome. Lightsleepers,... more

Just back from a weekend trip to Madrid where we stayed in the Hotel Tryp Gran Via. Our room was located at the back of the hotel so the problems with noise that other reviewers have mentioned did not arise. Our room was very spacious and clean. The only problem was the air conditioning. Even though it was only February... more

We got a great deal on this hotel with an air/hotel package, and stayed a week. From TA reviews and our familiarity with Madrid, we felt we knew what to expect, but our expectations were exceeded. Packages with this hotel were much cheaper than with any other central Madrid property. So I concur with many of the other reviews and... more

We stayed at the Tryp Gran Via for 2 nights at the end of November when we were in Madrid to watch Aberdeen play. We were a bit worried after reading some of the reviews but our stay was 'fine'! Yeah ok so the Gran Via is noisy with traffic - but then what do you expect! We were on... more

Okay, so the location is good.....and the room was clean, but that's about it. The front desk staff was indifferent, the bellboy was the only one who smiled. The internet was down the 3 days we were there and they didn't seem to care. But, the absolute worst thing was the street noise. 24 hours a day -- horns honking,... more
