Just returned from 3 night stay here, while its true the hotel is tired and dated the rooms are clean, the breakfast and lounge area are very nice and you can get snacks and hot/cold drinks from vending machines here, the breakfast is very good with plenty of choices, well worth paying for, although breakfast is advertised in the hotel... Great location comes at a price, noisiest room I have ever (not) slept in. There was a constant and very loud humming noise because of the movement outside, to a point where you could feel it echo through the walls. staff at the front desk was mostly nice except when we did the check in, and the receptionist was quite... I wanted to like this place SO badly. It is EXTREMELY well located: walking distance from almost everything a tourist would want to see, on a major street in central Madrid- what could be wrong? While the staff was great, the wi-fi was very good, and the rooms were clean (I was in three of them, in the course of... More

In a good spot to walk to all central attractions. Breakfast ok. Room was a good size and clean. Place next door great for steak and chips and fab local market behind the hotel. Lots of options on the doorstep for food but do your research.

The best thing of this hotel is definitely the position: in the very center of Madrid with shopping streets and restaurants all around. The service is nothing special: rooms are fine but old, there are some cracks on the wall but it is overall OK. Very nice breakfast!

Until we arrived at this hotel we thought there haven been only two seasons of Fawlty Towers, but we had to change our minds pretty quickly, and finding ourselves right in one of the episodes. From the outside, the building looks nice and well maintained, but as soon as you push the doors and enter the reception, it starts to... More

Pros: -Right in the heart of Gran Via, walking distance to Puerta del Sol, Plaza mayor, etc. -Cheapish - Free internet -Cons: -Extremely ran down bedroom - a single room is really, really small and bed is 90 cm wide - small -

I was in Madrid last week ,stayed in Try Gran Via .The location of the hotel is possibly one of the best you can hope for as a tourist ,especially if you rely on the metro or if you prefer walking around .The Gran Via station is right next to the hotel as you come out, on the right side... More

I stay in Tryps and Melia hotels all over Europe because they have good rooms, clean baths, large beds (cama matrimonial) and are a good value. I have to say that the Gran Via gets the poorest rating of any that I have stayed. We stayed there 3 nights and were very disappointed with the room, no cama matrimonial. The... More
