The Lope de Vega is a nice hotel, directly across the street from the Prado. 10 minute walk to the main train station (Atocha), and a little longer on foot to the Plaza Mayor. Modern hotel in a modern district (Starbucks nearby). Pleasant stay. more

Booked via the hotel's internet and had instant confirmation. Sent them an email and received prompt reply. Stayed in a junior suite on the top floor of this hotel. A lovely suite with connecting sitting room - bedroom, huge bathroom and a terrace with outdoor shower! As I planned to visit the museums, I was pleased with the location of... more

Perfect location for the museums. Steps to Prado, Thyssen, close to the Reina Sofia and the Caixa Forum. Great tapas places within a few blocks. Really an ideal location. Lobby was a bit wanting. This is not a stylish hotel. But the room was nice, bathroom clean, etc. Some of the staff spoke English, which was helpful. They supposedly had... more

Just spent 6 nights in this hotel. Convenient to the train station, the museums and the old town - close to some good restaurants. Breakfast was included and was very good. Rooms were clean and property is well kept. Hotel staff was helpful although they had some issues with printing boarding passes for flights home. Price was excellent. I highly... more

Spent a weekend at this older style hotel situated just next to the Prado museum. I like to stay in new or newly renovated hotels so this hotel wasn't for me. The rooms are a bit dated and had a strange smell but the fantastic location made up for it. I'm sure there are many better hotels out there for... more

We had a reservation at Hotel Prado. When we arrived, after a long flight, we were told we were being taken to a sister hotel. We weren't sure we were happy about this, but it turned out very well. We were driven to this hotel, and it was in a good location, very close to the art museums, as well... more

I liked this hotel a lot, but have to comment on the fact that having really loud laminate floors in a multi-story hotel doesn't make sense to me. We could hear everything from the room upstairs. Besides that and the fact that the front desk sent us to an awful restaurant nearby, we really liked this place. Great location makes... more

This was a great hotel. The rooms were quite spacious (especially for a European hotel!) and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. They spoke English pretty well, but a word of warning: not many people in the city as a whole speak English very well. Most restaurants have English menus, but that doesn't mean the waiters necessarily speak... more

In the best position in Madrid, near to "El Retiro Park", "El Prado" Museum and very popular and good restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and the service correct. more
