Booked this as a package via British Airways, and I opted to include the breakfast. The hotel is closer to San Domingo metro station than Teatro. Literally a two minute walk and downhill too. This is a good standard 4 star, with spotlessly clean rooms, very comfortable beds and in a good location. I was offered an upgrade to a... More

Stayed at this property from 20 August to 23 August. Booked this hotel due to its good location, and wasn't disappointed. The hotel is in close proximity to metro stops Callao, Opera and Santo Domingo with the last one being the closest. You can catch the metro straight from Barajas changing at New Ministries and Principe Pio. The hotel is... More

Hotel nice located but if you can booking the tryp gran vía is better. This is not a 4 star hotel for sure is a Solíd 2 or 3 stars maximum. If you just want it to sleep and you aré not picky then is fine . Breackfast great. No gym just in case. Smells rare like old. Not a... More

Stayed here for a long family weekend away. The location is fantastic, couple of minutes walk away is the metro Opera, and behind the hotel is a picturesque Oriental garden that looks onto the Palace. The area is a lovely place to talk a walk, with families and couples enjoying strolls late into the evening. The hotel itself is lovely,... More

This hotel is perfectly located in a quiet part of town but close to The Opera House, Royal Palace and Gran Via. The hotel itself is quiet, the lobby and bar are to a good standard and the breakfast is very good. We only booked a standard room but it was clean and tidy with plenty of room if a... More

Location is excellent, we were able to walk to the tourist attractions, There are also metro stations very close. Lots of restaurants and shops within a few minutes of the hotel.Very close to the main road in Madrid, Gran Via. Hotel staff were very helpful, rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast had a good variety. It was noisy in the... More

This hotel is located in a great place in the city. The rooms are of a good size and the hotel is in a peaceful setting. It is located near the Plaza Mayor and Plaza Santo Domingo. Access to the Madrid Metro is easy using Opera station. Breakfast was delicious and the service from the employees was great. Restaurants were... More

My wife and I stayed at The Tryp Ambassador 24th - 29th July 2014 - our room was a small suite on the 6th floor and provided us with 5 nights of undisturbed sleep. Yes, the bathroom, decor and furniture in the sitting area were old and in need of refurbishment but nonetheless, the room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable... More

Good location near Opera subway hub and Royal Palace. Superb service. Classy breakfast. Snazzy restaurant. Attentive service. All in a former, retrofitted, palace. Plenty of shopping and restaurants in the vicinities. Almost perfect !

Spent three nights at this hotel, the staff are friendly, the location is what's best about the hotel- close to everything, shopping areas, tourist attractions and metro links. Our room was comfortable with great air conditioning however the hotel does not provide irons for guests- which is inconvenient because budget hotels such as Travelodge would provide an iron on request....
