The location of the Tryp Ambassador Hotel was perfect. Just few steps from the main attractions, underground station, small bars and restaurants and shops of Grand Via makes this location perfect for a weekend break. You don't have to waste your time, ju can simply enjoy Madrit. Comfortable, clean and air-conditioned roomes, lovely lobby and restaurant. Keep in mind, this... more

The hotel has lost some of it's elegance but still has a sort of faded charm. Firstly ALL the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is very good - both for culture and shopping. The rooms are not small and have all the usual facilities. The breakfast was good but more fresh and less tinned fruit would have made... more

strange hotel. the main positives were size of rooms (i had an upgrade) and the staff was friendly. However, for €180 I would expect more sound-proofing - as is only recommended for quit people with a keen interest in neighbours TV choices - and heat in the rooms. IMHO, the amenities are no more than you find in a Madrid... more

This hotel is in a great location near the shopping district, Palacio Real, and the Plaza Mayor in downtown Madrid. It is on a quiet street, very close to two Metro stations: Santo Domingo or Opera. I had stayed here once before with my family and decided to try it again on my own for a 4 night stay during... more

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. I had read some of the reivews before we left and was a little apprehensive. However, my husband and I stayed there for six nights in April and found the sataff to be courteous and very helpful. We paid 20 Euros a day extra for an upgraded room and the money spent... more

We have just returned from Long Weekend staying at the Tryp Ambassador, we weren't originally booked in at this hotel, but were placed into this after our previous hotel overbooked, so I was very apprehensive after reading the reviews on this website. But we were really pleased with this hotel, it’s a 2 min walk from the tube station. Don't... more

I just checked in and immediately logged in to post this review because the check-in clerk, named Beatriz, was so rude. When I asked her why she had to enter all of our passport information into the computer, she said it was to combat terrorism. Then she started to lecture me in a very condescending way about how Spain has... more

Ok, I'll get the good bits out of the way, there is a nice breakfast buffet and the hotel is pretty much right in the centre of Madrid. The reason I give the hotel a 1 star "terrible" rating is that on our last morning we got our stuff ready so we could check out after breakfast then went down... more

hotel was average in price for area. Hotel had a 4 star rating, but a upgrade was required to get this room at this star level. Rooms given to hotwire were in a sepearte wing of hotel, and decor had not been refurbished in sometime. My room had a chair that needed be thrown in the trash. Maid service was great.... more

I previously read a few of the reviews. Most of the comments are dead on. Here are some of my comments to add: CAB FARE to hotel (from MAD airport): For us, I think it was € 35 [because of the additional person (I think) and a tarrif]. I did not leave a tip. Also, when we left our hotel... more
