This hotel was selected for its location. Indeed we walked nearly everywhere and hardly needed to take the metro. I think that this hotel caters mainly for business people as there is something quite cold and unfriendly about this hotel. I don't think that this hotel deserves its 4 stars: the bedroom walls would need to be redone, and we... more

My wife and I recently went to the Melia Los Galgos and when we went to the desk to register, there was a young man who greeted us with a big smile. I had a reservation and everything was arranged very quickly and the young man gave us a good room. We felt very good with his greeting us with... more

The best thing about this hotel for me it's the location, it is close to the Salamanca neighbourhood that is the most hip and trendy one, close to good restaurants and Calles Goyas and Serrano known for their great shops. We stayed in a superior suite on the top floor (we went for a friends wedding and his father booked... more

The Melia Galgos is a bit of a distance from the old city. It lies in the north part of the Salamanca district close to the American Embassy. However, taxi cabs are not very expensive in Madrid and a trip to Plaza Major is only about 8 Euros or so. Remember that cab drivers here take only three passengers, but... more

Stayed at this property with a tour group. Average at best. Our room was very small for a two people. The bathroom was not up to standards. No room to put your toiletries; no exhaust fan. Our view from the window was to an area where there was an opening in the center of the hotel where we looked out... more

I had no option but to stay at the Galgos as I was attending a convention. As a regular visitor to Madrid, but never having stayed there before, the previous reviewers made me expect the worst. But I wondered after three contented nights there whether we had stayed at the same hotel. First, my standard room was spacious, cool and... more

I stayed here while on business for the week. Not much in the surrounding area in terms of restaurants or nightlife. I would not have chosen this hotel if I were a tourist. The neighborhood, the Salamanca district, is one of Madrid's most exclusive, as evidenced by the shopping in the area. The hotel provided the basics; however, a kettle... more

I hadn't booked to stay here, I was originally at the Villa Real but had to move due to all of the noise from original hotel!!! This wouldn't have been my choice but we were in Madrid on a busy weekend and it was all we could get on a Fri morning, I have to say I think it is... more

The hotel was in a nice location - a short bus ride to the centre of Madrid. My room was a nice size + very very clean. The breakfast was nice - good choices! The staff were very friendly but it took ages to check in as they weren't very fast!!! The downside to the hotel is that the walls... more

As a regular traveller world-wide I can not recommend this hotel when comparing price with value. The rooms are much too small, the breakfast is nothing special and simply standard, the advertised roof terrace is windy because of the ventilation machines (by the way it has a plastic green floor), the costs for the use of the small exercise room... more
