Great hotel. The staff were very helpful. The room was well equipped although boutique style. The beakfast was great. The fresh fruit was wonderful and I could get used to smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. They have an outside seating area on the 9th floor which has great views of the Grand Via and an outside bar/ terrace on the... More

We found ourselves at this hotel because a travel agent placed us here and it was a great location. Staff was great and the location was central for so many venues. Totally recommend this hotel. Staff speaks English and the bar has a wonderful view onto the Grand Via. Easy to get cab to airport. Should cost you 30 euros.... More

The ideal spot from which to enjoy Madrid. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the concierge really went the extra mile to make sure everything fell into place. The Room was comfortable, spacious, and quiet with a fantastic view. The two-person spa is beautiful and the massage was a great way to relax after a day of travelling. Breakfast... More

What an amazing place to stay! This hotel makes me excited to go back to Madrid. It is urban chic with world class breakfast. The rooms were amazing, the view spectacular, the service impeccable and the breakfast made we look forward to getting up! The location is awesome. Was amazed by the sweeping view as I entered my room at night - a view right down the Gran Via! The location could also not be beat - so central on Gran Via and right by "Sol" and within walking distance of everything else. Metro stop Callao is right outside the door and metro stop Plaza Espana is a... More

I quite like this hotel. Very well located, modern, clean, very friendly staff. It's also not too big, something I appreciate. The rooms are good size and very confortable. I have nothing bad to say about this place and will surely return.

I spent a couple of nights at the hotel before coming back home. The location is really good in downtown Madrid, walking distance to the main theaters and with a Metro station really close by. The rooms have plenty of space and are quiet at night. I really enjoyed their breakfast to power up for the day (and the long... More

The Location cannot be better, plenty of restaurants and attractions in the area. When we arrived to the hotel my first impression was really good, we received a warm welcoming by a very friendly staff. They also help me to prepare a surprise for my husband in his birthday. Also we had the opportunity to hire the spa for a... More

Vincci Capitol hotel has one of the best locations you can get in Madrid. The area is full of restaurants, shops, cinemas, public transportation and pedestrian streets. The property has small terrace with a bar that is great for sunset viewing with a drink (or two). If you travel with your other half they have a small spa that can... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
