An excellent hotel for a Holiday in Madrid - right in the heart of the Gran Via - very good room on 6th floor - excellent buffet breakfast - a wealth of shops and restaurants within walking distance - excellent Metro system on your doorstep

We stayed for three nights here, having previously stayed at the Tryp in Jerez. The location on the Gran Via is excellent. Of course it might be a bit noisy for some but it is the centre of a capital city, after all. Our room was very good; blackout curtains very useful; extremely clean; bathroom fine and also very clean;... More

We were originally booked into the Tryp Ambassador on Grand Via, but were moved to here due to refurbishment. I'm glad they did! This is a very modern, clean and well presented hotel in a great position to use as a base to tour Madrid. Our room overlooked the side street so was lovely and quiet; our upgraded room was... More

Tryp Cibeles was our first stop before we embarked on an 10 day guided tour of 7 Spanish cities. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay there, but appreciate the hotel even more now that we have experienced comparable hotels in Madrid and other cities in Spain. We loved being located off of Gran Via, although we did have to... More

Spent 3 nights here - very central for sightseeing although Gran Via is a very busy, noisy street .We had a room overlooking this but still got a good night's sleep. Lovely breakfast in a lovely clean and airy room. Only downside was the lack of a bar - there is a lovely area on the ground floor where you... More

We thought this was a very nice hotel..For a very small additional amount, we were upgraded to a king bed and coffee in our room. Very modern and pretty room. Loved the breakfast. We were very happy with the location right near the Gran Via. We had a small balcony and with the door open, i guess the outside noise... More

This hotel is located at Gran Via, footsteps away from metro stations Gran Via en Callao. Nice rooms with spacey bathroom. Beds are very good. Breakfast is not expensive (9 euros per person) but is rather average.

The Tryp Cibeles is modern - centrally placed - with pleasant and helpful staff. The room was immaculate - clean and fresh - and quiet (we overlooked the Gran Via - and the double-glazing really insulated us from traffic noise). Although advertised as a 4-star; I would place it closer to 3-stars - it is more of a bed-factory than... More

Plus points-good location, spotlessly clean, nice room, huge bed (we had a premier room). Not so good;rooftop bar not open (damaged during storms),no bar or restaurant, staff efficient enough but not remotely interested. Be aware of what you are getting here-a typical chain hotel in a capital city.No atmosphere and no reason to be in the hotel other than to sleep. Breakfast is OK... More

I was going to give this place 2 stars, but our departure was just so awfull that my last faith in them went with that, we had 1 large suitcase and 2 small ones, so receptionist said that we needed to ask for a van for the airprot transfer, 50 Euro, well not much choice, although we arrived to the... Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
