Very Nice Hotel, with helpful and polite Staff. It is placed in a very central place on Gran Via, close to plaza del Sol. Nice rooms, recently given a good brush- up, and with wonderfull modern Bathrooms. Nice beds, and a very good brekfast whith inkludert almost everything you can wish for, including Cava. A lovely stay, that we can... More

I love the location of this hotel. You are within walking distance of most of the tourist attractions including the museums and the Plaza Mayor. You have easy access to great shopping and many dining options. The hotel is located in an elegant old building. It has no grand public spaces but the rooms are clean, bright and well laid... More

The interior of this hotel was sparkling clean and the architecture impressive. The 7th floor room was quite large with a nice big bathroom and shower. It has a nice balcony which was useless because of the exterior renovations. The entire facade of the hotel was covered in scaffolding (we got a decent price on the 2-night stay) therefore I... Stayed 4 nights recently in a superior room on 7th floor overlooking Gran Via. Although still shrouded in scaffolding and no roof terrace this hotel is still excepetional value for money. Rooms look to be newly decorated, bathroom was large with bath and impressive shower over, 2 sinks, toilet and bidet. Large beds were comfortable and with electric shutters and... More

The hotel's location is great if you like to explore the city by foot. It's just ahead of Plaza Callao (great shopping), and halfway between the castle, Plaza Mayor and Paseo del Prado, with all the museums and the beautiful park. You should be aware that is also a very touristic location and as such, things nearby (meals especially) are... More

Wonderful hotel on the Grand Via right in the Centre of Madrid. Very convenient to main shopping areas and all key sights. In the surrounding area are literally dozens of small bars , tapas bars and restaurants to graze at. This is real Spanish capital, not a tourist trap and the food is brilliant and cheap From the booking stage... More

We stayed at Hotel Atlantico for the first 3 nights of our Madrid/Paris vacation. We chose this based on the excellent reviews and a friend's recommendation. Overall, the hotel was fine, but I am absolutely shocked it is rated as a top 10 hotel in a city such as Madrid. The only memorable part was how clean it was which... More

Hello tday8412. Thank you for your review. We are so sorry your stay was not as outstanding as expected. With reference to the homeless, unfortunately you are right, but it is not larger than other major cities in the world since the homeless often live near the main streets or the city center. Of course, this is not an excuse.... More

Stay here for three nights while in Madrid, hotel is right in the middle of everything, walking distance to many shops restaurants and hop on hop off madrid city tour bus. On-going maintenance work disrupted our city break to Madrid. View of the Grand Via was removed due to scaffolding. We experienced noise nuisance from drilling work at times throughout the day. We were given an alternative room with no external view. The apology was in the form of a letter left on the dressing table in the booked room. We... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
