Pretty average overall. Booked on an offer through the company website, price was ok but got a nice large room and a free meal. It was clean, and quiet, but the key thing was that it was very, very central which makes it ideal for sightseeing. Breakfast is extra and works out quite pricey, which I think is a shame... more

The Santo Domingo is meant to be a 4 star hotel but really 3.5 stars would be pushing it. The standard double room I was booked into was very small although it was well furnished and had adequate facilities (TV, Mini Bar and Safe). The room was decorated to a good standard and was clean and tidy. The only complaint... more

The hotel itself is ok, although we only stayed one night so did not see the restaurant etc. At first the room seemed really nice and was spacious however, the walls were paper thin and were awoken at 2am and kept awake by the activities of next door! Bad luck for us but could happen to anyone with people returning... more

It’s an OK hotel. Not more, not less. If it is their art-pitch that attracts you in Santo Domingo, then you will be disappointed – there are a few paintings in the lobby (all copies) but the rooms lack the artful touch. The hotel’s location is great – central, next to St Domingo metro and 4 mins walk to Plaza... more

Nice little hotel, friendly staff and good location. Nearest Metro station is just across the road but if you are travelling from the airport it is best to go to Grand Vie and walk a short distance up the hill and to the right. If room 503 is available grab it, it has a balcony on 2 sides (nice view... more

The hotel doesn't look particularly inviting from the outside, but once inside it has a welcoming and homely feel. Staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. We were initially shown to a small double - it was extremely small so we asked to upgrade. The room we stayed in was bright, spacious and clean. The hotel is in a great position... more

Stayed at the Santo Domingo for 4 nights to do Madrid and Toledo. Since this was my first visit to Madrid, I was not familiar with the city but I lucked out with the location of this hotel. The Santo Domingo metro station is just across the street from the front entrance. Gran Via, a major shopping strip is just... more

I booked a single room for one night's stay before my friends and I drove down to Algecira for the ferry to Morocco. My room was clean, comfortable, quiet, with all the modern amenities, including a safe. The hotel staff was extremely warm, helpful, courteous -- everyone from the front desk to the espresso maker in the cafe/bar just outside... more

Booked this through a friend and we got a twin room. We don't know each other particularly well. The beds were less than a foot apart. The room was ensuite and had the tv etc, but the wifi was not included in the (really quite large) price and neither was breakfast. The staff were friendly though, and there was a... more

I don't understand where the four stars were earned, but certainly not in soundproofing. We had to move twice in two days because of the noise from the street (partying in front of the hotel until 07.00 am, and the noise in the hotel itself (partying on the 6th floor that made the keys on the table in our 4th... more
