We loved this hotel and would give it 5 out of 5, except for one very annoying fact. This is easily the most noisy place that I have ever stayed. We could clearly hear the voices of the people in the rooms next to us. One night, there was a small group of women chatting until after midnight, which kept us up. Another night, there was a man having several arguments in a row with... more

An easy journey from the Airport (only 1 change) and a short walk from San Bernardo Metro. Located in a beautiful square just off a main street (so hardly any traffic noise). The staff were very polite and efficient. The buffet breakfast was overwhelmingly generous - you had a choice of everything - and the restaurant next door (there is an adjoining internal door in the main lobby) was excellent too (we had an evening... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Friendly staff, very clean and well appointed. Our room was a good size with bath/shower. LCD TV, internet, safe etc, so good for both business & leisure. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice and well presented. Staff were always polite and friendly and willing to help. The hotel was located three stops on the Metro from central Madrid, a journey of about 10 minutes. The city... more

This would be a perfect hotel, except that the management has decided to charge the exorbitant price of 22 euros per DAY (about $33) for a "communications package" that includes TV, movies, music and internet access. If you don't pay, the only things you can use your TV for is to check for messages and to set a wake-up alarm. There was a small radio built into the wall (and an old services directory said... more

The hotel is north of the city in a busy area. However, as soon as you turn the corner into the plaza where the hotel is situated, you notice the peaceful atmosphere. It was great to escape here after the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel is excellent . Although it is one of a group of hotels it has a very individual character. We'd definitely stay here again but not in the... more

This hotel is located outside of central Madrid but only a few minutes walk from the Metro, and only two stops to Sol, in the heart of the city. It was spotlessly clean; well furnished; offered an excellent breakfast buffet (included in our reasonable rate); and the service was highly professional. more

Just back from a 2 night stay here. We took a taxi for 27 euros from the airport. The hotel is in a quiet suburban part of the city, a 20 minute walking distance, or a 6 euro taxi fare. Our room ( 412) had a large comfy bed, laminate flooring ( really don't like carpets in hotel bedrooms ) and all the trimmings you would expect from a good 4 star. Our room had... more

This hotel is an easy safe subway ride from Madrids International Airport. We arrived at night and Madrid was awake and vibrant. The hotel is a 10 min walk from the subway stop. The path to the hotel is full of side walk cafes and restaurants, shops. There is a beautiful large fountain as well. The hotel is situated in a quiet side street in front of a small park. The Gran Hotel Conde Duque... more

We have stayed at The Gran Hotel Conde Duque three times now and on each occasion standards of hospitality, cleanliness and comfort have been excellent. The staff are delightful; polite, friendly and extremely competent. They make one feel that nothing is too much trouble for them as far as you, their guest, is concerned. The public rooms are discreet in that they are not obviously 'public', well-appointed and a pleasure to spend time in. The... more
