Great location but three star at best. Stayed on the first floor & was given a very small room, noise level was ridiculous. Actually a gold card holder at this chain of hotels & wasn't even given the minimum service I normally receive. Location excellent.

A descent 3 stars hotel that aim to be 4...! The overall product does not comply with a 4 stars hotel as I understand it falling around in the world often. Room service tonight was awful beside being tiny and expensive.

1 Night in this hotel, We got a room without a view, no mirror in the room. Nice people and good service. Metro station is about 5 blocks. require 5 Euros deposit for electrical adapter. Don't have a ramp to roll anything to the reception

A hotel with ok location near the big park. Breakfast is much better than average with good selection of juices, fruits, meat etc. The negative side of this hotel is the noisiness. In the first floor room you can easily hear all the noises from the lobby floor (inc. reception phone ringing). At all the other floors you can enjoy... More

A very good 4 star property. Metro station is a 5 minute walk. The location is ideal for the basketball centre or if you do not want to be in the middle of town. It is conveniently located beside Retiro Park. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. About a 20 minute walk to Sol metro station.

This Hotel is perfectly well located in Madrid. It's very close to "Puerta de Alcala" and "Parque del Buen Retiro". I was there for business but I can assure that this is a very nice and clean Hotel. All the Staff are very friendly.

No Kleenex in the WC. The heated towel bar in the WC not working (evidently not even connected) All windows to inner courtyard opaque. No drawer(s) in the bedside tables. Very good breakfast and service. 12 steps from street to reception. Pleasant and helpful staff. Needed staff to locate the directions to operate the safe Excellent location for good restaurants,... I have been using this hotel for the last 2 years when I travel to Madrid. All the quality of the hotel and the service from the crew are completely perfect. Good relation quality/price and the best is the location, well located for commute and near Parque del Retiro. Totally recommended.

The hotel is ideally located, room was clean and sufficient for business. The personnel is kind and willing to help. For other purpose than business, I would recommend to specifically ask for a room with a bigger widow.

I stayed at the Alcala four nights with Road Scholar tour in September 2014. On third day a hotel employee knocked on door, was surprised to see me, and had no explanation for her visit. That night at midnight a group of men entered the adjoining room and the doors opened and closed continuously until 3:30 am. Bad soundproofing made... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
