Stayed for 4 nights over New Year. Hotel clean, comfortable, room/bathroom perfect in size and well stocked. Location perfect: in a good neighbourhood just outside old Madrid centre, 10 min walk to Puerto del Sole, lots of goods restaurants near and felt very safe even late at night. Retiro Park and Prado very close. Had breakfast in hotel just one... More

Normal room, confortable bed, clean, silent floor. Friendly staff. The only problem: poor breakfast, in my opinion eggs and bacon is crucial for breakfast. More

We stayed there for Xmas. The hotel, apparently has been renovated not long ago. Therefore the rooms are quite comfortable, modern, with a clean bathroom. Service is good, by people ready to assist on anything we needed. For those wanting to visit Madrid for the first time, this is a great deal. Location (above all) is very convenient, close to... The hotel is a street away from the Retiro park, in a pleasant area and a 15-20 minute walk from the centre. It's also well located in terms of the underground and bus routes and about a ten minute walk away from the airport shuttle bus stop on Calle O'Donnell - although it's also easy to get to the airport... I've stayed there 2 months because I was working in Madrid and this was my second stay there. The hotel is very well located on Alcàla street, and is 2 minutes walk from Retiro park, which is a great place to visit and to relax. There are plenty of restaurants and cafeterias near the hotel. It is also easy to... More

1) Good rooms: cosy, clean. nice bathroom 2) Good district: close to Retiro park (5 min walk; should be visited), metro station Principe de Vergara (5 min walk) - is easy to get to Plaza del Sol (the same line), to Gran Via etc., close to Goya st. and Serrano - good places for shopping. More

Our stay was May 14th-16th, 2011. My wife and I were a surprised by the negative reviews, Our room #303 was on the front of the hotel. II had a nice view; it was large, quiet, and very clean. Perhaps, it had been recently refurbished. The bed, the room, and the bathroom were all large and immaculate. The staff was... More

In view of previous comments, we arrived with some concern. Turned out to be be totally unfounded and we had a very good four night stay.Very clean everywhereand most staff were very helpful, given we speak no Spanish. Our room was classed as "Superior" and had a very large bed, almost seven feet wide, a sitting area and a large en... The arrival is very traditional with a reception desk that prevents to have a nice conversation. The luggage was brought to the room by a porter who is most probably scared to speak with guests, poor him! The room has no iron board, water or may I not expect that? More
