I have stayed here frequently. The location is the best feature of this hotel but the hotel and the rooms are ok. On the 7th floor some of the rooms has a balcony with a nice view. The rooms with balcony are smaller. Slow free wifi.

We stayed here for four nights. Initially our room was situated on the 3rd floor overlooking the street. We opted to upgrade as we knew the constant street noise would be disturbing. The best aspect of this hotel is that it's a ten minute walk from the Atocha train station and pretty much the 3 major museums of Madrid; the... More

Good location. Just about less than 5 min walk from train station. There is plenty of food around the hotel. You don't even need to get their breakfast! The best thing is I book a standard room and was upgraded unknowingly. Happy with such gesture. NOT only that, they deliver some chocolate and cakes dessert to our room. Thank you... More

Location close to city center attractions. The amenities are a bit substandard for ta hotel of this caliber. My room faced the street and was too noisy. The nightly rate doubled over the weekend making the value for the money for this standard room outright immoral ( 180 euros to 400 euros).

This is the second time in two years we have stayed at the NH Nacional in Madrid. Its location is excellent for seeing all the major sites in Madrid and also near to Atocha station for an easy day trip to Toledo (which we did this time). The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are of a... More

We're staying here after an extended trip to Spain for a few days before our flight home. I'll be honest, I booked the wrong NH hotel for the location we wanted {we've been in Madrid before}. The hotel is quite adequate and you get what you pay for, so no complaints. However, where did they get that picture that's all... More

We are almost in 2015. Is it really too much to ask that hotels throughout Europe stop treating guests like idiots and start turning ON the air conditioning system 24 hours each day? After all we do pay for it in the price of the room. Most recent of many similar experiences throughout Europe this past year took place in... More

Very close to the major museums and the old streets of Madrid. Nice hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable bed and roomy, well equipped bathroom. Even a good make-up mirror with satisfactory lighting. Drawback: some noise from corridor and neighbouring rooms.

Hotel was fine but nothing too special. Rooms were clean and we stayed in the newly renovated option which was nice. We were accommodated quickly when we asked for an interior room after our first night because the street was so loud. No real bar or restaurant at the hotel. Close to the park and many museums. We loved our... More

Pros Excellent downtown location - on the edge of the city centre, in the middle of the Art Triange, and opposite the main park, Retiro. Excellent buffet breakfast - plenty to choose from - good value when pre-paid, kids eat free. (Well, at least one kid with 2 adults did). Breakfast room itself light and bright with a view over...
