Very disappointing. Great location, but with a low price that should have made me wonder what was wrong - and it's the poor service. We checked in early and did not expect a room, but luckily one was available but needed cleaning. The cleaning took 90 minutes!!! The air conditioning was not working, and never got repaired. (We were offered... More

Although in an excellent location, this hotel fails to offer a fulfilling experience. The room I had was extremely noisy, with any whisper from the street clearly heard till late in the night. Reception personnel was speaking English very poorly, and in one case completely clueless on how to respond on simple request. The breakfast was not included and although... More

This is an excellent hotel, well kept and maintained. The Hotel staff is more than courteous, always willing to assist and help in anyway. The front desk staff is well presented, polite, qualified and do their utmost to resolve any issue one has. One of the best things about this hotel is its location, in one of the best areas in... More

The NH Lagasca is a very good hotel. It is situated in the nice Salamanca district close to the beautiful shops in C/ Serrano. We enjoyed the good breakfast buffet. Unfortunately streetlife during night is quite noisy. You can hardly sleep with open windows - which we are used to.

Hotel is in a great clean safe neighborhood. Everything is within walking distance, including Parque del Retiro. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions. Rooms are clean, sized typical to European standards. Only complaint would be no iron or ironing board in the room. Otherwise it's a great choice when visiting Madrid.

An excellent choice when you want to stay in the city center of Madrid. The area is very clean and safe. Location is great, walking distance to the major Madrid attractions (e.g. Retiro park is only 10 minutes away from the hotel) and it is in the shopping district, so it's the best choice in case you want to do... An excellent choice in the Salamanca district - probably the best value for money in the area. Tasteful and clean rooms, polite staff and a great breakfast. Choose this hotel if you want to be in the "posh" shopping area of Serrano/Velazquez/Goya, but not if you want to be close to Sol/Gran Via. There are some great restaurants close to... More

Hotel is very nice and the service was great. The bar was not very nice if you wanted to have a drink. The room we got had a bathtub and also a shower but not al have them. Very clean with no complains. Loved the location since it is very near Metro, A very nice farmers market across the street... More

I regularly stay in this hotel for business and it is consistently of a very high standard. The rooms are clean and comfortable with large modern bathrooms, excellent showers and now even an expresso coffee machine. The breakfast buffet is fantastic (Jura coffee machine, freshly squeezed orange juice, iberic ham, churros etc) and the staff are professional and friendly. The... More

Stayed here for a weekend trip to Madrid with my wife. Excellent location in the trendy Barrio Salamanca which is great for shopping, bars and eating. Short walk from here to the Prado and the Parque de Retiro. Playa Mayor about 30 minute walk from here or 10 minutes in a cab. Hotel is nice with decent sized, comfortable rooms,... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
