we stayed in NH Collection Amistad in Cordoba, that is a superb hotel, ideally located inside the old "Juderia" of the city (Jewry) and walking distance from everything monuments and restaurants. Wonderful breakfast, with delicius options and great service. Highly recommended

This was our first time in the NH Madrid Sanvy hotel. We have visited many other NH hoteles in Madrid and we always enjoy our stays, but for the first time the hotel staff's friendliness and kindness really stood out. Special thanks to Dutch front desk help Isabella and kind and helpfull staff in the breakfast restaurant Mayte, Tiago and... More

We were 3 persons, sharing a suite. It was like a small apartment with 2 separate rooms each with a T.V. and a corridor with fridge leading to a bathroom. A Nespresso machine, kettle , tea and coffee available. A free bottle of water every day and a welcome basket was given to us upon our arrival. Great central location... More

It is in a great location near shopping, many museums and restaurants. But it is a tourist hotel and specialized in hosting people on large group tours. It is clean, but it is very utilitarian and not luxurious. It does have free Internet and a decent buffet, but the gym is limited and the room luxuries limited as well. Be... More

The positive aspects: The hotel is well located, the breakfast is good and so is the staff. The negatives: The room, at least the one I stayed in, is extremely noisy. Hard to believe. I believe the room (200) is above a services area, where people toss garbage cans and othe metal hw about all night. And I mean all... More

Rooms are clean, staff are friendly and hotel situated conveniently in the heart of Madrid In the summer this hotel is great with an outdoor pool which gives a real holiday feel but surrounded by lovely shops and good restaurants with a Hard Rock Cafe and Champagne Bar physically on its doorstep

Again a NH hotel fir me. Everytime it is great. This one I had room 303 and it was nice. The view from the room wasn't spectaculair but the distance to yhe Hard Rock Cafe just 1 minute! And thats what I like haha The room was clear and a smokers room! You don't see that a lot anymore! So... More

This hotel is one of those that appears okay on the surface but underneath it all, is challenged. There are not enough staff and they promise to do things then do nothing. But thats okay because the manager is not on shift and makes sure that work starts after all the guests need to be checked out. The rooms are... More

When I stayed for the first time in this hotel in 1973 it needed a thourough renovation and they did it eventually when NH took control of it. Now it is time again for a renovation of this very good located hotel.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
