Rooms are clean, staff are friendly and hotel situated conveniently in the heart of Madrid In the summer this hotel is great with an outdoor pool which gives a real holiday feel but surrounded by lovely shops and good restaurants with a Hard Rock Cafe and Champagne Bar physically on its doorstep

Again a NH hotel fir me. Everytime it is great. This one I had room 303 and it was nice. The view from the room wasn't spectaculair but the distance to yhe Hard Rock Cafe just 1 minute! And thats what I like haha The room was clear and a smokers room! You don't see that a lot anymore! So... More

This hotel is one of those that appears okay on the surface but underneath it all, is challenged. There are not enough staff and they promise to do things then do nothing. But thats okay because the manager is not on shift and makes sure that work starts after all the guests need to be checked out. The rooms are... More

When I stayed for the first time in this hotel in 1973 it needed a thourough renovation and they did it eventually when NH took control of it. Now it is time again for a renovation of this very good located hotel.

Best location to stay in Madrid, near "El Retiro" if you like to run, near Serrano if you like shopping and near downtown. Hotel needs an update, even this won´t affect your stay. Amazing staff and really helpfull.

We chose the hotel for it's location and the fact it was 4* as we like our comforts. The location is perfect, but the room allocated to us was so small we could not pass each other. When we arrived there was only one bath and one hand towel in the not terribly clean bathroom even though the room was... More

We were looking for a nice, safe, reasonably priced base for a short break in Madrid, location to be central. The NH Sanvy was excellent. Located between the Casellana and Serrano, it is in prime location but doesn't charge prime prices. There is a big roof terrace, pool and small gym, it would have been very pleasant had the weather... More

This hotel is well placed for restaurants, shops, sight-seeing, the park AND it has a car park AND a terrace with pool. The rooms were very good and the beds and linen were SOOO comfortable we didn't want to get up. Breakfast was also very good. Perfect for a short stop or weekend break. Have spent four nights at this very pleasant hotel in Madrid - the location is simply great, two steps away from "Salamanca" and "Serrano"...there are táxis right at the hotel entrance, and the Atocha Station is only 10 minutes away from the hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are adequate . Breakfast is pleasant - nothing very lavish but with all the... More

Stayed here for 5 nights while working in Madrid. This hotel has a great location, central to everything. Many good restaurants within walking distance, great shopping, near the Metro station. All in all a most convenient location. Our room was relatively small given the price but reasonably equipped. Desk and housekeeping staff were very attentive and friendly. The breakfast (included)... Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
