I read some ambiguous reviews in this website hence my expectations were not high, but this hotel was a very nice surprise! Although the hotel is under renovation, the negative effects on the quests are minimize. The rooms are very spacious with most comfortable beds. You can even ask the staff to open the window if you want fresh air... More

I stayed in this hotel for one reason; it has an indoor pool. the problem was, its not an indoor pool as you would expect in a four star hotel, its basically a gym attached to the hotel and has no hotel facilities at all. No towels, loungers etc. The pool was tiny and full of people, so I just... More

Stayed for 4 nights in lovely accommodation. In the older part of the hotel and the room was spacious and most comfortable. Colleagues less impressed with the new renovated part of the hotel. Excellent front desk service attended to all my needs. The breakfast room is currently being refurbished so sent to a converted function room, which was adequate. Quality... More

I stayed here for just one night not by choice I hasten to add. There are plenty of more modern hotels in Madrid for the same price per night or less. The hotel is currently being renovated therefore the lobby is a bit chaotic and looks a complete mess. The staff behind the desk were friendly enough though and willing... More

Booked this hotel LAST MINUTE. I mean walking on to the plane last minute. And you'd never know it the way the staff acted. There was a small hiccup with the reservation but once I provided my reservation code, it was all good! The nice gentlemen and women at the front desk were very kind when we asked for the... More

I am here now. Actually leaving. The hotel lobby is under renovation. The breakfast room is relocated from usual place to a different one. The room is freezing cold and the regulator doesn't seem to work. The carpet in the room is stained. The furniture fabric is stained. On the bright side - the staff is very helpfull and friendly... My husband and I have just spent 3 wonderful days in Madrid and stayed in this hotel. It is situated very near the Arguelles metro. We had a beautiful big room on the 5th floor with a view of the streets below. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was serviced every am with clean towels and toiletries... More

Hotel under construction. But rooms very comfortable and free Wifi was a plus. We used the gym facility was very clean. Very central to the city, Starbucks on the corner of the building and shopping centre in and around the building.

I think that you should be advised in advance that a hotel you book is being renovated, and that you have to go around the block to enter. Our cab pulls up at the address on the email confirmation, and I thought we had been scammed. I must say, though, that the room was one of the largest hotel rooms... More

The hotel is situated in the centric street of calle Princesa close to the famous shopping centre El Corte Ingles, Starbucks and a lots of shops and tapas restaurants. So according to its position is well situated to stay and discover Madrid. The structure building is quite big, it is made up by two buildings linked and it has 14... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
