We arrived at 9 am to the hotel and to our surprise our room was ready! Check in process was hassle free and the staff was nice. Although the lobby was a bit outdated and unappealing the room was nice size, clean, well decorated. It was three of us, they had to bring roll-away bed, which was big, but we... More

we were 4 senior ladies for the first time in Madridon on our 6 days of vacation. though we have not find high recomandation for this hotel on tripadviser, we have decided to take it for its reasonble price and its location. we were happy to descover it was beyond our expections. the wide comfetible clean room (at the new... İ was in Madrid for 5 dayı and each time i spent in this hotel was terrible. Firstly there was not enough Hot Water and they couldnt fix it. The biggest problem was their staff! They are tottally arrogant and rude to customers. Even a guy told my friend "hey Man take it easy" when he asked recepsionist to finish... More

Our first room at check in smelled of smoke; when we complained they said it was all non-smoking; after insistence we were moved and no problem. Hotel is quite far from anything in Madrid; if you are looking for quiet, its your place; if you want to be in the middle of things, and near sites, its not. Crowded while... More

We had a chance to experience rooms at the old wing and the new wing of this hotel. We were first booked at the old wing during the first part of our tour of Spain and it was a really TERRIBLE experience. Our first room was quite large but it was obviously very old and worn. The carpet was dirty... More

Last stop on our trip. Rooms large and spacious but old. Wallpaper falling off the walls. No swimming pool or patio to relax at. Bar area not too welcoming. Hotel was also expensive for food and drinks. 1 old computer for connecting and printing. Free internet for 24 hrs only and then only 1 unit at a time. Never did... More

The room we were in stinks line cigarettes, the walls and ceiling had cracks in it, wifi is limited to one single device, broken knobs in the bathroom, dirty carpet, bed was like sleeping on plywood, and make-up mirror was on the verge of breaking! This hotel is more like 2.5 star at a 4 star price not Happy!

Just spent 4 nights here. Had a very nice room, comfortable, clean and quiet. Just a few odd drawbacks: there were no tissues provided and no body lotion. Free WiFi is only in the lobby and cumbersome to use at that. We thought the breakfast to be excellent. It's around corner from Metro stop and there are a number of... More

I think the title of this review says it all. The hotel is clean and comfortable and I would definitely recommend upgrading to the Club Room. Rooms were large and divided in two by a door which helped with any noise from the corridors. The bed was huge! The TV was on the small side but OK. Re: the TV... More

The hotel in general offers good value for money, friendly staff, good standard rooms, descent breakfast, but no concierge ( very weird ) and the internet sucks big time. The location is probably what makes this place a great hotel to stay in as its 5 minutes walking from the main shopping area in Madrid (Gran Via) and it has... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
