Great hotel, great location, great staff and great room for the price. Our room was very large bed, nice and clean bathroom and even a couch. The hotel was very clean and offered a great breakfast. Enjoy some cocktails at the hotel bar for reasonable prices served by friendly staff. Some parts were dated but hotel is in great location... More

Marriott should be ASHAMED of themselves for letting this property call itself a Marriott, let alone a Category 4 Marriott. We booked at their site which had glowing reviews and newly remodeled room images. The 6th floor was straight out of 1970s/1980s. Our suite had disgusting water damaged carpet, old furniture and a bed made out of rock (so it... More

Easy and simple: just stay away! Not a Marriott, not a **** hotel! Dirty, run down and no hot water unless you plan to let the water run for at least 5 minutes. Expensive and they do not care about feedback, actually they do not even pick up the phone if you call reception. They have refurbished the hall but... More

So when we arrived we had driven in a big truck and I was very worried about parking as we were in the middle of a city, but the hotel staff were fabulous and allowed us to park in the loading bay of the hotel. Check in was great, again the staff were fabulous. The room was good, beds amazing... More

Stayed here for business and basically, the lousy (partly non-existent) internet connection overwhelmed everything else. Really, when on a business-trip, internet is needed. The Good: * Decent breakfast, but not great. * Decent room * Check-in / Check-out worked OK The bad: * Internet was not working when I was there. One day totally dead, and the rest of the... More

I have stayed with my family for 2 days and for those days at 8 am in the morning there was a demonstration of ex employees of the hotel complaining about the fact that they were fired few months ago and no pay off was done to any of the staff since then. Honestly, I think that the Marriott should... More

Excepted the lead of receptionist ,Francisco, and some others helpful and friendly, this hotel is far cry of 4 star hotel and its regulation of Marriott reputation. The room is ok, but bathroom is too weir, a lot of cracking floor. However, the worst point here is the manager of a small restaurant in lobby. He treated us like a... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
