Spent 2 nights - rented 2 rooms since we were travelling with our teenage sons. We really enjoyed this hotel. Beds were the most comfortable of all the hotels (4) we stayed at in Spain. One of our rooms had a balconey - a lovely addition. Breakfast was included in our room rate & it was wonderful - delicious meats... more

Stayed here for a short City Break and enjoyed our stay in this Hotel. The room we had was very quiet at night with a really comfortable bed which led to a peaceful nights sleep We also had a large balcony with a patio table, chairs and a sunlounger. There is also a safe in the wardrope which we unfortunately... more

I stayed in this hotel for the second time with my wife and young child for 3 nights. The staff is wonderful to say the least. They are very helpful, punctual and polite. The hotel is in a prime location near everything in Madrid. The rooms are decent and the bathroom are large and nice. However, the air conditioners inside... more

If you want easy access to the sights and sounds of Madrid, a respectable price and a reasonable bed then this is ideal for you. We only had one full day to see all that Madrid had to offer, so chose the hop-on, hop-off tourist bus. There were two stops for that within 5 mins walk of the hotel. It's... more

Located just behind the Plaza Espana this is a centrally located hotel for site-seeing the old part of Madrid, the Royal Palace, Gran Via and Casa de Campo areas. Hotel is very old style and could do with some refurbishment in some areas. Room was comfortable, staff friendly and overall premises clean. Didnt do breakfast at the hotel. Instead used... more

Very old fashioned Sofitel but not very luxurious. Location behind plaza Espana is just perfect and all the staff at reception is extremely helpful. But the rooms are worn out, bathrooms aren't great, breakfast is nothing special and you never feel like you are in a 4 star property. Only the Sofitel bed makes you feel like you are someone... more

Just OK as the hotel sounds quite old for a Sofitel, and except the bed everything need to be refurbished. In addition, the personnel was just fine but not providing a high level of servce. It is important to notice that the district is not the more luxury and fency. If you stay in Madrid, I would recommend to go... more

I have a "Sofitel Privilège" card and have stayed in (and hold reservations for) a number of Sofitels. Many are outstanding and feature highly in TripAdvisor's league tables, e.g. New York, Montreal. This Sofitel in Madrid is not one of those. Overall, my 4-night stay was disappointing (compared to other Sofitels, that is), although in terms of value for money... more

This Sofitel is consistent with the Sofitel standard of decor, delicate touches (like the Roger & Gallet products in the bathroom or the chocolate before bedtime) and service. Liked the lounge/bar/breakfast area on the ground floor with windows and natural day light (not always a given in business hotels), the news papers at hand, the fast service at the bar... more

Not bad at all, hotel small in size for Sofitel standards, helpful staff, close to metro and other amenities, super comfortable bed!! Nothing too exciting but more than ok for a medium priced hotel. more
