Another Great Stay at this hotel. I always stay at this hotel whenever I am in Madrid. For the past 11 years, since this hotel was a Sofitel property, it has always been a gem. The staff is absolutely WONDERFUL, especially, the front desk staff. This is a centrally located hotel with access to downtown madrid, metro and bus stations....

Not really in a great location but booked too late. Needs a complete renovation without a doubt. Chains such as Accor have the money to do this. There are better options which are cheaper.
I had booked this hotel about 2 months before going to Madrid. At that time I had requested a non-carpeted room, for my wife is allergic to it. Upon checking-in the manager said they had no hardwood floored rooms and implied I should have called them bedore arriving there. I believe they are the ones that should've contacted me right...

We stayed in a room with a balcony on the 6th floor and it was great. We really enjoyed this hotel as it is close to everything you could possibly want to be close to in Madrid.
Positives:
1. Location. Sandwiched between two metro stops, plaza de espana and Ventura Rodriguez.
2. Easy to get to by metro from the...

I cannot understand why this hotel gets excellent reviews. I am staying here at the moment and to be perfectly honest it is poor. The worst Mercure I have stayed in and I stay at Mercure hotels all over Europe.
The hotel is old, the bathrooms are very small and the bath/shower tiny. There are no coffee or tea facilities...

I arrived at the hotel late one night. It was an easy metro ride from the airport to the Ventura Rodriguez metro stop and the hotel was under 5 minutes walk away. I was greeted by the receptionist Luiz who checked me in quickly and gave me the key to the room. I settled in to the room and at...
