In General All is good but nothing " WOW " , the location of the hotel is central and the rooms are clean and well designed. In addition they should have a better service for the breakfast and more variety .

I booked on-line for two nights, attracted by the central location and the fantastic facade with balconies. Was surprised, but not disappointed, to learn that hotel was part of a chain throughout Spain, although it felt like an independent. Also the facade is old--but the interior is all new. Pleasant juxtaposition. Clean, modern rooms of adequate size; who needs large... More

I've stayed at Catalonia Atocha a dozen times. I often travel alone and always feel comfortable and safe. The location great with an easy walk to plaza Santa Ana, Retiro Park and Atocha Train station. The rooms are spotless with wooden floors and a clean modern design. All have large walk-in showers. Wifi is free and dependable. Interior rooms can... More

We traveled in May, booked 2 rooms, the hotel is in a very good location, we did not have breakfast paid from the hotel, did not have any issue fining many options for breakfast within a minute or 2 walking distance. Everything is very close to this hotel as well, the rooms are good, staffs are also friendly, so overall... More

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your choice and, of course, for the time you have used to share your experience with the other travelers. In your next stay, and even if you can find many places around where you can have breakfast, do not waste the opportunity of trying our buffet breakfast. We guarantee you won't feel disappointed.... We got upgraded to a room with french balcony. We didn't experience any noice at night (doors closed of course) and it was nice waking up and check the weather. The jacuzzi at roof top was really nice! Friendly staff. Good location!

Dear guest, Quietness is one of the most important requirements in a hotel. Being aware of it, we made a big investment in order to avoid any kind of noise, especially in those rooms facing Atocha street. Among the technical solutions, we can mention the use of "Climalit" glass windows, the use of double windows in the most exposed areas,... More

Dear guest, We agree with your comments: the Junior Suite is the most beautiful room in the building. When our Company purchased this building, this was one of the areas which was catalogued and protected (because of the wonderful frescos on the ceiling). We could not do anything but keeping the surface as it originally was. The result is a... More

The location makes for easy walking to the Prado, Plaza del Sol and many other sights in the central part of the city. The room was elegant, comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet was extensive and extremely good. The wonderful staff deserves particular praise. I arrived at the hotel contending with a lost luggage horror story inflicted on me by... More

We stayed in this hotel as part of a tour group hence it wasn’t booked by myself however the hotel was great. We got a very nice clean, modern room that we couldn’t fault. We had breakfast included and they had a great variety. Staff were very helpful.

The location is perfect: all tourist attractions are within walking distance from the hotel, and if you get lazy, you can take the metro (the station is very close by). The staff is nice and friendly, all members do their best to be helpful even though they are not always 100% efficient. When making the reservation, I asked for a... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
