Very good location. The less: impossible to have breakfast at hotel Insulation between rooms is awfull! A free walking tour is offered by the hotel, which is welcome To discover the city and many secret places

I recommend this place. It is nice, clean and in a good location (near the Puerta del Sol). The only issue was that the the 12 rooms hostel is above a night club, so remember to take earplugs with you. ;)

Well situated in the center of the city , at walking distance of the most important places to visit , and surrouded with typical restaurants and bars , we were delighted to stay in this place for 2 days

Stayed for 8 nights in November. Room and bathroom were clean. Though the detached bathroom was narrow (long and skinny) it was difficult for a tall person like me to sit at the toilet. If you are a large plus sized person, opt for one of the more expensive rooms. The security and reception were nice. Street level door lock... More

The room was spotless and well-equipped. Comfortable bed, TV (in Spanish), PC, WiFi, fridge restocked daily with water, juice and Pepsi (free), multi jet shower (leaked a little into the bathroom, but loads of towels provided, and changed daily), hair dryer, very well-lit, safe available, air conditioning. Only things missing were tea/coffee making facilities and a lift (but we were only up... More

Nice hotel with a beatiful decoration and excellent location, 5 minutes walk from the metro and just some steps from good restaurants and bars. The Wi-Fi is slow, but not terrible. Anyway, I really recommend this hotel.

Not having been Madrid before we were somewhat unsure as to where to stay but by chance chose this particular location. It could hardly be bettered. On the edge of the old town and within easy walking distance of everything that Madrid has to offer. It certainly does what it promises. Clean romms a good powerful shower and helpful staff. The... Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
