Excellent hotel in an excellent location and staff. We had a great time. Perfect location, very clean room, smiling staff and nice bed. Perfect location close to the city life, original, vivid decorated, cosy rooms, PC in the room. Good price/quality ratio.

Very friendly welcome from staff, spacious rooms with private bathroom and mini bar. Excellent location very central and close to all tapas bars, theatres and places of interest are all within walking distance. Also the metro is near by.

Great location, nice rooms but small, all necessary cosmetics, free bottled water and Pepsi as pleasant supplement. Free wi-if in the rooms. Minus - they did not have boiled water. We need to make food for the baby. Not enough towels in bathroom.

This hotel/ hostel is located in the centre of Madrid with a lot of bars and restraunts around so it's location is amazing. It is a clean bright comfortable room at the cheaper end of the price scale for Madrid. Covered everything we needed for our 4 might stay and we enjoyed ourselves.

I stayed here for one night when I had an 18 hour layover for my flight home from Morocco. The front desk was helpful and the only problem I had was trying to get into the hotel. But the place was nicely furnished, if small. Great shower. The front desk booked a cab for me for the next morning and... More

Good base for your stay, great location, no breakfast provided, but cafes, bars, tapas bars are all at your doorstep, still very quiet at night, on 3rd floor with no lift, the check -in place is just across the street on first floor of JC rooms, note the address is misspelt on hotels.com, very reasonably priced, would recommend it for short... This Hostel has definitely the best loction, the rooms are small, but thats normal for a hostel. It has a small balcony and a free minibar! Everything was clean because of the roomservice every day. I had been there twice, I would stay a third time. :)

This hostel is great if you're looking to spend a few days of fun in Madrid with friends. The rooms are very clean and fairly comfortable, and its location is privileged, just a few meters away from Puerta del Sol. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around, and the price/quality relation is excellent. The only thing is, if you... More

Stayed for weekend. Hard to find so got a taxi from bus. Very central free tour and mini bar. Rooms small but clean and maids visit daily. They gave us maps which you definatly need if first time very busy place and easy to get lost.

I was browsing the internet looking for a hotel and came across JC Rooms Santa Ana. So glad I did! From the moment I booked via e-mail the hotel was really helpful, answering any queries I had promptly. We stayed in the room 'Castilla Leon'. OK, it was small but really well appointed and spotlessly clean. I loved the funky,... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
