I stayed here in April 2009. A while ago, but I remember it as being the best hostel I stayed at in Spain. Great location, very clean, and it was full of lots of young backpackers. This hostel really helped me have a great experience in Madrid.

Great hostel in the center of Madrid, where all the action is. Very nice people, lots to do, and about as clean as I can imagine a hostel being. Very international crowd. Only wish I had more time to spend there. 5 stars!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was within my standards for a hostel, comfortable enough bed and a decent sized locker. The only problem was the sunlight invading the room at morning, but that's not that bad, sleeping for long time was not my top priority. The kitchen was great, with full equipment and with tea and... I spent 4 nights in the hostel. The best things about it were the Staff and the location. The bathrooms were clean enough, and it was nice to have the kitchen. Unfortunatelly there wasn't breakfast, just churros and chocolate (which are nice, but not for 4 days). I stayed in a room with no curtains, so I'm pretty sure the... More

Spent one night here and loved it. Very friendly staff in a warm and welcoming environment. Showed up tired from a long trip and they got me quickly into my room and I had no problems sleeping through the night. Younger crowd. Very centrally located downtown in the center of the city! Couldn't have been better located.

I loved this hostel from the beginning. I arrived late Sunday (9pm) and was checked in by a fantastic girl named Michaelle. She was my favorite of the hostel staff, although they are all fantastic! When I arrived the hostel was serving one of their two free weekly dinners. The other free dinner night is Monday. Every day I had... More

Super friendly staff, free churros in the morning, free wi-fi, fantastic location and a great atmosphere. Lockers are provided and the rooms are cleaned everyday. I had an enjoyable experience and would thoroughly recommend it.

I have stayed in many a hostel the past few months in many different countries. This one was very average --not great, but could've been worse. It was clean enough, the staff was pretty helpful, the rooms were just okay. However the location was excellent and there was no curfew --except the common areas closed at 11 pm which was... More

Was very impressed by this place. Super nice staff and great vibe. It is a young hostel so can be little loud but everyone is respectful. A little dirty with the sheets but no real bother. Would recommend!

Neighborhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
