We hire a room for one night and we were looking for some cheap place in downtown. If you need the same Nersan is one good option. It's really well placed, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the receptionist help us making the check early in the morning. Recommended

I've spent almost a week in Hostal Nersan II which turned out to be quitea good choice being on my own. I had to look for a place just for me, and they had well equipped and good looking single rooms for free. The bathroom was shared, but there are 2 of them on the corridor. Be aware of the... More

No one who works here speaks English, so be forewarned. The price was good for Madrid, and it is near the Iglasias metro stop. The first night I had a window, but for the rest of my stay my room was completely enclosed (and there is no access to heating or A/C so I was pretty cold). It's on the... More

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
